I've read the manga descriptions several times before and was interested based on the premise.
Sounds like another series to watch in the future

Excited for this. This series is really worth reading, with great art, and a pretty good story. The only bad thing about it was that it was bimonthly, but that is not the case anymore.

The anime likely won't be able to keep up with the level of art the manga has, but I'm excited for it.

So is there a reason why Witch Girl has to protect Generic Stu at all costs?

Because it's boner-inducing, but I guess we can call it sexist and misogynist now to get that out of the way.

Probably because he isn't really generic, since some secret organization of witches wants him alive...
(not a spoiler, just a rude joke that doesn't need to be read unless you feel like a rude joke...)
Maybe he is destined to father a new race of witchlings... Kind of like the movie "A Boy and his Dog"... It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it...

But this is the girl having to take care of the guy, so that would make it misandrist, not misogynist...

Yes. Generic stu is the Chōjin, well, not exactly but that is the general idea.

Maburaho and Magikano were also about some lamo who all the girls wanted for his latent powers/seed/what have you. WCW is different, though. Here the witches wear pointy hats.
