I am so flattered that my question got asked, Thanks ANN!
Throughout my university years I would often focus on questions surrounding the influence of science fiction on technological development, including Gundam, so I am very glad that I got to hear Mr. Tomino's response. I don’t know if video or audio recording was allowed inside the convention room, but I would love to hear the full panel if it’s available somewhere. |

I'm pretty disappointed none of my questions were asked, since Tomino is my favorite anime director and I tried to think of some good questions to ask him, but it was still interesting to read his responses to some of the other questions.
I love what he said about adults being the enemy, and how, as an old man, he's a "super enemy". I can clearly see that theme in a lot of his works, though there are some admirable adult characters here and there. I also thought it was amusing that he admitted he was no Newtype and how he says that he always feels regret and a constant need to do better, no matter how hard he worked in a previous work. He actually seems a little humble. I'm hoping there aren't any samurai characters in Gundam, though. At least, not of the type he's seeing on the convention scene. |

Eh, my question sucked, so it's probably best that it didn't get asked.
Nice interview/panel/Q&A though. I always love hearing what Mr. Tomino has to say. |

Mark Simmons!
It looks like you've been up to a lot since the closing of the Gundam Project. Good to see you around ANN, too. |
