Children Who Chase Lost Voices looks like it's it for me for November so far. Good, I need some lean months so I can fatten up my bank account.

I own the Japanese LE import of Children Who Chase Lost Voices and I own the Graveyard of the Fireflies DVD, so no need to double-dip on either. I'll probably get everything else, though, eventually. No rush.

Just Children Who Chase Lost Voices for me. I'm going to wait for complete collections for Irohanihoheto and Zettai Karen Children.

Nothing at all on that list for me, although I may rent Children Who Chase Lost Voices if Netflix gets it. Shinkai's stuff is real hit or miss with me so I'd rather spend as little as possible to find out which it is.

...Come on Sentai where's my second Mardock Scramble movie already? I need my cyber punk fix.

Has anyone seen Psychic Squad? Or come (or themselves written) across any reviews?

You may want to look around under the original Japanese title Zettai Karen Children. I don't think it's been reviewed yet on ANN (no links to reviews in the encyclopedia); the median ranking is "good". There is also no discussion thread listed in the index in the Anime forum. There are a couple of user reviews on MAL where it's ranked #916.

Personally, I watched the first 2 episodes and gave up as I found the characters to be pretty unlikable.

Thanks! Hmmm. I would certainly like to check it out, but one of those sets is a significant purchase.

While I am not in the camp that hates Steven Foster, I really have to question why another dub was made. I never heard the dub on CPM's DVD so I can't comment on the quality of it. If it had say a really terrible dub I could see doing a new one to do the show justice (like if someone gave Patlabor a new dub). But there already is a dub so why make another one?

Well, I have listened to the dub, and while not terrible, it definitely shows its age. I commend them for making another one and hope others follow suit.

I really couldn't stand the old dub. I'll really glad, and suprised, that they're doing this. Setsuko's voice is particularly horrible.

A review of the old dub is here. ANN gave it a "B" but said that it was only acceptable "for those who absolutely, positively, can't stand subtitles. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. Most of the positive statements seem to be more about the film itself, and the script, rather than the voice acting.
