why is anyone shocked by this??? MB either needs to sell off the rest of the assets they have to funimation or setnai or just stop.

PREDICTION: Sentai will license Bakuman (whether it be Season 2, or a rescued Season 1), and they'll release it with NYAV returning to reprise it's dubbing duties. It might be wishful thinking, but I can't imagine this show NOT being licensed. If Sentai could do it for K-ON!! and Queen's Blade, they could do it for Bakuman dammit!

As long as they're not idiotic about licensing season 2 and ignoring season 1 entirely (looks at Zero no Tsukaima F)

Maybe Media Blasters will sue Funimation because they can't release this set because of Funimations "Monopoly" on the industry.

In all seriousness RIP Media Blasters

News flash, according to Michael Sinterniklaas, Season 2 is already in the can. Media Blasters just hasn't shown up to claim it yet.

I mean this isn't suprising but ,i literally just pre ordered this off Amazon a minute ago cause i figured we were finally in the clear. But then they literally pull this at the last minute.

I pray that funi or sentai can save this. Sad

At least they had the decency to actually cancel this one, unlike Fushigi Yugi which has been delayed like three times now. Just say you canceled it. No one will be surprised.

Yes, that would be stupid if Sentai licensed season 2 while letting season 1 go out of print but I've said that previously about K-On.

And Ah My Goddess.
And Fate Stay Night.
And the Slayers OVAs.
The Dirty Pair OVAs

Sentai/ADV's really big at just picking at franchises, aren't they? It must be a thing of theirs. Getting all of Mahoromatic and Rozen Maiden must have been a fluke.

On the other hand, I can really imagine Bakuman not being licensed. A shonen view of creating shonen manga specifically for Weekly Shonen Jump just screams cross-continental appeal to me.
From ANN:

Bakuman: 587 ratings
Squid Girl: 1290 ratings.

And MB thought Bakuman was the "get" somehow. I've read a bit of the manga {around 80-90 chapters} enough to have zero interest in the anime.
