Good for her.
With two of the best voice actresses/singers in the same series (Aya Hirano being the other), it's not really a surprise that good tunes from White Album sell well.

I fall in love with her voice a long time ago. I'm happy for her.

Ehh Nana Mizuki is very much on her way to the mainstream. Plenty of non Otaku are buying her music now. Even more so online (which doesn't count for Oricon)

Aya Hirano can't sing. Listen to her live performances and they're absolutely horrid. Voice vibrates too much.
I'm surprised to see the next Symphonia OVA song out so early given that the OVA is not coming out until next year. And as far as I'm concerned, Nana Mizuki is definitely moving mainstream, especially with the huge success of Ultimate Diamond released earlier this year.

She's getting to be like Maaya Sakamoto or Megumi Hayashibara
And as far as I'm concerned the other really good seyiuu singer is Minori Chihara.

Well, I wouldn't know, but "White Album", and "God Knows" two of my most played songs. Besides, nobody is ever as good live as they are on the album, that's why I generally dislike live music. There's all that annoying crowd noise too.

Yeah but she's completely bad.. Like why did they even let her in a studio knowing she would sound like that without mixing

As far as I can tell, Mizuki Nana has quite a few performance which is definitely better then the CD version. Pray from Animelo 2008 is better then the CD version by miles. Any live version of Eternal Blaze is better then the recorded, at least in my opinion. There's alot of songs by Nana, which I never liked till I heard it live. Sakamoto Maaya lives is better then her CD version, Platinum which is quite an old song, sounded amazing with her latest tour. There are plenty of singers who can sing better live then CD version, live version feels alot more 'human'. (Although nowadays you can even autotune live performance, and obviously the DVD release of the concert could have under gone some 'editing' too)
Hirano Aya screams in her mic in her new songs now (please don't remind me of Super Driver). Hirano Aya sings well for an idol, she has a pretty face, but definitely not good enough to be judged just by her singing.

Probably because she's a knockout. I'm curious now though. Got any video evidence?

Not a fan of the new WA opening theme, but Mizuki won me over with "Shinai". Hope her next single is better.
As far as live singing, Lia is pretty much the only artist that I know that sounds about equal, if not better, live than when recorded.

totally agree!nana might not be as well as some singers but she her live is certainly on par with her recorded version of the songs or even better! those powerful songs are really powerful and for those sad/emotional songs i could really feel the feelings she put into her song...
p.s. mugen and tenkuu no canaria totally roxs!

A quick search for "Hirano Aya" and "live" on *cough*Youtube*cough* will give you plenty. Her Haruhi concert performances are particularly bad as they were a couple of years old, though she's improved some over the years such as in her performance during Animelo 2008.

You need to listen to more artists' live. There are more than a handful of seiyuu singers that are amazing live singers whom can sing just as well as their studio recordings (Iwao Junko, pretty much the entire Sakura Taisen cast, Sakamoto Maaya, Chihara Minori, Tamura Yukari just to name some of my personal favourites). And as said, Mizuki Nana is good if not better than recordings in some cases, her acoustic corner in her concerts are absolutely gorgeous in showing off her abilities. I would recommend her Live Formula acoustic performances which you can also find at the usual places *cough*.
As for the crowd noises, they add to the atmosphere in the fast songs. Having been to so many seiyuu concerts myself I personally cannot imagine not having some cheering as the concerts will certainly become a lot more dull.

I find it the opposite personally, the 3 times I've heard Lia trying to perform "Tori no Uta" from AIR live I've been severily disappointed, each time. For I've singers I would say KOTOKO is the one with more consistancy in her live performances.
