It would be funny to get one of those units and try to use it here in the U.S. Although I might not understand all the lines, but I'm sure the H.T.T. girls would have something to say about being forced to navigate over here.

I wonder how many of the Otaku who will buy this will actually have a car. Cars aren't really that necessary in Japan with all the public transportation (and you can just walk to a ton of places if you really need something).

On the other hand, mapping software is about 10 times more useful in Japan, because of their building numbering scheme, at least in the cities.

The day I need a sat nav to get me where I need to be is the day I shred my drivers licence and give my car to my son.

Somebody here understands the source good enough to tell me if it's possible to buy it and actually ship it (to Germany)?
I hope you don't have to live in Japan to be able to buy that!

I don't think you have to live in Japan to buy it, but you do have to live in Japan to use it, I would guess.

Yeah, I don't imagine the system having maps outside of Japan. Still, I'd be tempted to buy one of I could afford it.

Too bad the voices probably don't support English, otherwise I'd wait for someone to rip them so I can put them on my Garmin. Mio or Azu-nyan would be a welcome improvement over that cold, callous British lady I've got right now

Yeah, houses/buildings aren't numbered in sequential order along the street but in chronological order when the land lots were developed in the town.
But be careful with this navigator - it'd keep wanting to re-direct you to tea shops!
