Just learned this only a few minutes ago:

The adultswim.com messageboards are having a Q&A session with some of the guys who run the block/website (Swimbudda and Kim Manning included), and one of the questions was the following:
Quote:

Does Adult Swim have any desire to gain the rights to Samurai Champloo?

Kim Manning answered:

Quote:
Yes! So I guess now is a good time to announce two new acquisitions for 2005. We've picked up Samurai Champloo and Paranoia Agent, and they'll both start this Summer.

The thread containing the Q&A session can be found here (registration with the board required).

SC's "episodic" nature would fit well for network TV. SC can get insanely popular like Bebop if it does really well.

As for paranoai agent, that's great news. They got one of the best new series being release right now.

So I'm glad that both series might eventually be on AS.

Just because Cowboy Bebop and Gungrave is on TV that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy the DVD. In fact, it's a good way to promote the show. The DVD will have totally unedited content, no commericial, sub/dub, watch at your own time and of course way better quality than the low quality they use.

You make it sound like it's an obligation. Confused

Sexy. Now I'll get to catch up on Champloo and finally see Paranoia Agent. Tempest & Sakechan's mentions of it in the IRC chat have left me dying to see it for myself. Anime cry

This is great news as both shows are awesome. I hope they'll be uncut. Champloo has some curse words, while Paranoia Agent's got... well.. lots of other things too Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop, such as nudity, the usual violence, and some questionable conduct (of a sexual nature Anime smile + sweatdrop). And I saw all that in just the first episode Shocked.

And it's got a WEIRD a** intro too. Here's a screencap:

[EDIT: Removed the screencap].

For such a dark show, I have no idea why they're laughing, which I guess is the reason I find the whole thing so amussing Laughing. Well, hopefully you'll see it on AS Wink.
