How long should I wait?

Okay, first of all, I was unsure whether I should post this in the Music section or the Retail section, so, mods, feel free to move it if I chose incorrectly. Anyway, sometime around mid-October, 2004, I ordered a CD and a CD box set from CD Japan. Now, I know they're in Japan, so I figured it would take a while for my stuff to arrive. However, as I write this, the first day of 2005 is nearly over and I have yet to recieve anything. My question is, how long should I wait? Seeing that this is my first international order, I've no clue how long it should take. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

Well depending on what you ordered and where you ordered from, the site should've given you an estimated delivery time. I've ordered a few things from overseas before and it usually took about a week to a week and a half.

But again, it all depends on what you ordered and from who. If it was a registered and certified commercial website, they should've e-mailed you or kept a record of your purchase with a shipping and delivery schedule. If not, well, a lot of things could be possible.

Er.. sorry, that's all I can think of with my limited knowledge on this Anime smile + sweatdrop.

If you ordered from cdJapan, and your item was in-stock, you should have received it by now unless you chose Economy Air as the shipping method. By signing into your account, you can check the status of your order. Also, they do send order confirmation, shipping confirmation, and backorder notice emails to you. If you haven't gotten any emails from them, and there is no info on your order when you sign into your account, shoot them an email to [email protected] and let them know. Be sure to write your order number and the catalog number of the item in the email.

Even so, it shouldn't be more than 2 weeks to arive, not over two months.

Okay, a small local business does my online orders for me since I can't get my own credit card or PayPal account yet. I know that they're capable because they've done many previous orders for me. I'll have them check on the item status on the website. But, the problem is, according to them, CD Japan never sent us an order number. This struck me as rather odd back then, but I just let it go. They have e-mailed CD Japan about this before, but got no reply (I'm guessing because of its lack of an order or catalog number). I will have them make contact again and make sure to mention the catalog number. I certainly hope I don't end up CD-less. Thank you for your aid, everyone.

Economy Air (SAL)

* Usually delivered in 1-3 weeks after the order is shipped.
*May take up to 12 weeks.
* Packages sent by Economy Air (SAL) are loaded on airplanes when there is an open space. This makes lower shipping charge possible, but it takes extra time for delivery.

I assume they wouldn't add the could take up to 12 weeks line, unless there was a real chance that could happen.

Three months? That's a little crazy. That has to be some sort of extreme situation there, like shipping to Siberia or something. They only write that stuff because it may have happened once, but they want to cover their asses incases it should happen again. It's like with medication, a pain reliever may have given one person a headache, but because it's a recorded side effect they have to list it as so even though it may have only happened to that one person and never again.

Pie, where are you located? If you're in the US then there's no reason why it should be taking this long. Ask this company if they where charged for the order because I'm sure the company charged you. If they were then something is screwed up here because they should have recieved order confirmation with payment confirmation, but not just in an email, but right on the site where they should have recorded the info if they're all that professional.

I am located in the U.S. And, I'll check on the website's information on the order status. However, that 12 weeks line is comforting, because by my estimate it's only been about 10 weeks, and stuff tends to take a while to get to me. I mean, some T-shirts I ordered from the U.S. didn't show up until September 2004, despite my having ordered them January 2004. I just hope my stuff arrives eventually. Yet again, thanks for your help.
