TSRI posted info on Bandai's True Tears R1 release today. Looks like it will be retailing at about $40 under the Anime Legends line. A far cry from Bandai Visual's original 20-bucks-or-so-per-episode plan. The series set release date is listed as July 21st.
Also up for July 21st is the first part of Hayate no Gotoku. Not Anime Legends, but priced the same. Looks like it will include seven episodes, so I'm guessing Bandai is shooting for seven volumes.
Both releases are listed as subtitled-only.
EDIT: Oh, yeah. Code Geass R2 was also listed for 7/21 (Dubbed). Busy day for Bandai.

This is more appropriate for the Retail forum, hence it is being moved.

The listing for Hayate stated that it was 1 disc, 175 minutes. So that's like 7 episodes on one disc. Even without a dub track, that's pushing it too far in bitrate, so you'll know the video quality or possibly sound quality will suffer. As well as there probably being no chance for any kind of extras and it's high price point. This is a release that's best avoided.

A thread on AoD/Mania has the extras listed as well. It's clean OP only. No word on whether we will even get both audio tracks (bleeped and un-bleeped).
So its $40 MRSP for 7 episodes, sub-only and virtually no extras.

Clean OP and ED, other series previews, and interactive DVD menus aren't extras, they're standard features that you'd expect. Every time I see a DVD calling a clean OP or ED an extra feature, I want to punch a baby panda. Besides, even if I wanted to watch a clean OP or ED, cracking out the DVD, waiting for it to load, and then selecting that option takes a whole lot more time than a quick check on Youtube for it, usually they're not removed.
Now this is what Mario and all the rest can call a shoddy release. Rightstuf/Nozomi at least took some care with their dubless boxsets and added some pretty damn good extras to boot to make it easily worthwhile to fans. No to mention this MSRP is the same as the preorder price for nearly twice the episodes of those Nozomi releases. I see no reason for ever buying this release as long as it remains as it is. Actually, I can see one way that I would pay for this, and that's if the MSRP was $9.99.

Bandai is still trying to figure this sub only non legends stuff out. Going by the Media Blasters Sub releases, this should go for around $24. MSRP, street of $18-$19. I will be interested if there are two sub tracks, but otherwise I will rent and see if it is something I must have.
Their first shot with Rocket Girls was pretty good IMO, though probably a tad pricey. After renting though, I thought it was worth it.
True Tears for the price is worth taking a shot on, given my enjoyment of recent visual novel adaptations.

Amen. You can get 13 episodes dubbed/subbed for $40. I'm going to wait on this one until its all out there.

Only 7 episodes? They do know it has 52 episodes right? I mean, Kenichi is being released at 13 eps per set and it's 52 eps.
