who cares, the movies are just rehashings of the show; i d give my left arm for more of the show picking up as a sequel, with a better ending for yoko and shimon; but im not really interested in the movies.

While I'm not quite as unenthusiastic as you, I do get annoyed that this is just essentially nothing more than a compilation movie. The only times these things have been better than the source material is from Gundam 0079.

According to Yukari Fukui, Nia's voice actress, the second movie will have more than one hour of new animation which is more than a half of the movie. I guess the second one will be more than just a recap.

From what I know of them, they're compilation in the same way the RahXephon movie was: roughly following asimilar plot, but with chunks of new animation and other reworking.

Oh goodness me no. There are enough 'happily ever after' endings around.
Plus, general consensus is that any additional OVAs will be set in the timeskip period. At least that's what the production staff want at any rate.

Isn't that illustration by Sushio?

Sounds like good news, even if it's still obviously an easy cash-in. I am always interested in good Gainax animation.

I hear the new movie cuts out that schoolchildren crap that was a waste of time in the second arc. Hopefully it'll cut short the "Simon in prison" material, too, and get to the point. I liked the show, but there was so much padding.

I just want the first minute of episode one turned into a full movie, with more Harlock references.

Well, hopefully, "new animation" also means "new scenes," not just new animation of old scenes. Very Happy
