The Tower of DRUAGA- the Sword of URUK (TV)
Two episodes are out in the continuation of last year's Aegis of URUK, and I have to say I'm enjoying some of the changes so far. It seems that several characters (most notably Fatina) have matured a bit. Also, while I liked the parody-heavy episodes of the first season, I found myself laughing out loud a few times during the first couple episodes. The animation still hasn't reached any sort of greatness, but I enjoyed the dungeon-crawling RPG style group interactions last time, and I have fairly high hopes for this series being a decent watch. |

Some parts were funny, but I hope they back on track and climbing heavily again in the second half of the tower. Also, I hate the loli addition, I don't care what her connection is, having a loli nowadays can only be viewed as otaku-pandering to get them to buy more dvds. Then again, GONZO did animate Strike Witches, so it's not unlikely to them to think lolis are a integral part of anime now.

Just because there's a child in the party doesn't mean she's being depicted as a loli. Then again, knowing this series it may only be a matter of time...

I think you're confusing loli with moe. Ki is quite obviously meant to be a child incapable of taking care of herself, and thus needs a adult guardian to protect her. That she is apparently a magically de-aged version of spoiler[Gilgamesh's queen] also somewhat precludes a romantic involvement between her and anyone else (read: Jil). I enjoyed episode 2, and how the random customer girl got sucked into this big mess. It was a bit surprising to see everyone (particularly Jil) handling the gold knights so easily, as throughout the first series they always seemed a little overwhelmed. I guess it's true when they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Also, poor Utu, nobody recognizes him without his helmet. |

It doesn't matter the reason any more, a little girl being in anime these days is otaku pandering no matter what the situation.

Congratulations! You are now officially added to my list of people whose opinions I will never consider worthy of respect. If you told me the sky was blue, I'd look and see for myself. - abunai |

Ki seems to be aimed more towards the cute crowd, than the lolicons. i laughed hard at the "spoon" scene. i also love how nobody recognizes Utu without his helmet.
so far it's off to an ok start. |

I love Ki in this run, she's hillarious with her consistantly violent behavior (jab, jab). I don't know what you're smoking, random collection of letters and numbers guy.
And the Utu gag was very fun too. Their strength I get, it's sort of the idea that they were Climbers, and serious ones at that, which makes them head and shoulders about the "normal guys", which is the pool that the soldiers draw from. Remember how ineffective the soldiers' group was during the last series? A whole brigade of them was equivalent to a 4-5 man Climber squad. Climbers are sort of like NBA players in the Olympics. |

I think he/she was being sarcastic; that's how I interpreted it anyway. But yes, I loved the first series on YouTube, and can't wait to see what happens in this one. I thought I'd heard that Funi had picked up the licence for the first series, but there's nothing in the Encyclopedia. Was I mistaken, or is it just at the talk stage? |

Ki is a very amusing addition to the cast and has made up for the temporary lack of Coopa.
Henaro isn't nearly as amusing, but she's still a decent addition to the cast and certainly far more useful when push comes to shove. Though I do believe I saw Ki shove a spoon up one of the soldiers' butts, so she's not totally useless in a fight. |

I believe immediately after that, Henaro shot the soldier in the face with one of her sleep darts. Teamwork! |

I stumbled upon Tower of Druaga and loved the first season. This second one if the first two episodes are any indication are set to blow it out of the water.
Got to love how Jil and Fatina actually do seem (and unless my mind is playing tricks look) older. The jokes so far are great and while it looks like we won't see Melt and Coopa as full time party members, the whole show maintains humor and a even greater dramatic presence with all the plot lines it has set up.
Funny thing, when I saw Ki on the promotion poster and opening, I hated her. Then I saw the episode and knew Ki is dope. And really Coopa was more loli then Ki currently seems. Who is just adorable enough to give you a tooth ache. Besides, she is a funny addition, between moments where she just acts like a kid playing with a mouse or her crazy moments like poking people's eyes or violating people with spoons and running behind the nearest adult. I can't wait to see what she does to Melt. |

I just finished watching episodes 3 and 4.
Episode 3: Comedy is the name of the game this episode, from spoiler[Melt getting rich from a pyramid scheme, references to old prison break movies, Jil flashing back to the "roper incident" from season 1, the Star Wars "Lando betrayal bit", to the 24-type clock counting down to the "avalanche" of pressure forcing Melt to join up with the golden knights], I laughed quite a few times. Episode 4: Serious business for the most part. spoiler[There is a battle against Druaga again, although it is weaker this time, it still seems the party is much stronger this time around, and Jil pulls off some impressive leadership. We find out that Kaaya is really the daughter of Gil and Ki, and that she is climbing the tower to kill him (an act of love actually, as Gil sees immortality as a curse). Also, the tower is a one-way trip, yet still Jil, Fatina, and Utu all decide to be all heroic like and make the sacrifice. The climb begins.] |

Given that the king is over 100 years old and spoiler[Ki apparently didn't make it to middle age, even, I'd be more general and say descendant, given that Kaaya seems to still be in her teens. Also, I think they said it wasn't just the immortality that is a curse, but also that he's being spiritually/morally corrupted as time wears on.] |

Man, spoiler[the quote in the Batman movie The Dark Knight, "you either die a hero, or see yourself become the villain," starts popping up in my head with the way episode 4 described Gil's development since the days he conquered the tower.] |
