Just today Japan A Radio, started to change their server from Nullsoft (ShoutCast). This which i cant do anything about, but if anyone does listen to this station. You would might say that this station is one of the better station of the quite many.

What might ya think of this change?

Well, since AOL says WinAMP is dead, and Nullsoft is part of WinAMP, we all know that AOL will wind up messing WinAMP up since they fired the people who worked on it.

Just like they did with Netscape, bought it out, de-engineered it and killed it. Same with everything AOL swallows up, they eventually let it die.

I think this makes sense.

And yes, this station has the best sounding audio of all of them.

Thank god I jump on to Live365 when I had the chance. But still, ShoutCast was pretty good once you got the handle of it, and then there was Winamp.

Wow, I never thought in opening a new post for Japan-A-Radio. But, just, a few questions. I don't understand about what you're talking about...

I listen to Japan-A-Radio via Winamp, I started doing so long time ago. Actually, I am still listening to it. I am quite confused with stations and all the things you mention...However, as I do not use AOL, nothing has changed, at least, from my computer...

Sorry if there is any point that I am missing out, but, I have just understood that they changed its station...

I should stop speaking as if I would know what is all of this...Anime hyper

Since I own one of Japan-A's comepitors, I will make this post brief. THey have a good thing there. I'm not into Japanese music outside of anime, so Idon't listen to them often, but I thye have a good thign going.

If you want to know my station, ask or personal message me. I'd be glad to show you the way.

By the way, we use shoutcast, but plan on moving to Live365 and icecast (a shoutcast clone) soon.

One question...Japan-A-Radio has disappeared from my Winamp Library. Does anyone know why? Is there any contract that I have missed? Or it does continue like always? Confused

Don't worry. THat's Nullsoft being Nullsoft. THere is a restriction onw what types of mp3 stations can be listed. For one, it has to be pure MP3, and not somethign like MP3Pro*.

*By the way: MP3Pro is an upgrade to the mp3 codec used by profesional commercial web stations like Japan-A-Radio (most likelt) and Toon Radio. It gives twice the quality for half the size of your normal mp3.
