I was looking on Deep Discount DVD and noticed that some of the dvds I was looking at had an unknown next to where the region code was supposed to be. I was just wondering if the DVDs with this unknown region code are still legit region 1 DVDs. In particular was the box set 2 for GTO. I really want this series but can't afford it from suncoast or Bestbuy.

Thanks for the answer. I keep hearing really good things about this site but have never orderd from them before. At first my reaction was that this site had pulled off the biggest bootleg scam in the world and everyone got ripped off. Once I realized this was just my imagination I decided to post on this issue. Thanks for destroying my doubts on this subject kusanagi-sama.

Sure, you're welcome. My suggestion when buying from there is to not use the free shipping. Free Shipping is SLOW... took 10 days to get my stuff from them using free shipping. They use the United States Post Office for the free shipping. I would suggest using the 2-3 day shipping, because it takes a total of 4 days to get what you purchased. They use UPS for the 2-3 day and overnight shipping. 2-3 day shipping is $6.95. They do have expidited shipping that takes 3-5 days and it is $4.95. Their overnight shipping is $12.95.

Thanks for the shipping tips. I will thake that into account when I buy from them. Sometimes when i order stuff online i don't care how long it takes as long as it gets here. But, with anime it's a different story. I need my anime at the first possible second.

Jerome defines "gyaru" and their place in the anime landscape.― The internet asks: What are "gyaru," and why are they popular in anime again? I love talking about Japanese subcultures, and I love assessing their impact on broader global pop culture at home and overseas. I hadn't thought much about gyaru since my first encounter with a couple of “gyaru girls” back in Shibuya in 2007. It was during o...

When tackling complex concepts, pop culture prevalentl...

This is a bad sequel in almost every way. Barely a thing has improved over last season, and many of its flaws have been carried over to here.― Demon Lord Retry! R is a bad sequel in almost every way. Barely a thing has improved over last season, and a lot of its flaws have been carried over here. The action is as flat as ever. The animation barely moves an inch. The battles are unengaging and anti-...
This is the story of a young man who will do what must be done but nonetheless strives for an unobtainable ideal—not just for his people but also the enemies he comes across.― The first season of As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I'll Use My Appraisal Skill was centered around putting the band together. With Ritsu, Ars gains the ultimate warrior, and with Charlotte the ultimate mage. He gains the ultima...
Somewhere between xxxHoLiC and Hell Girl lies Hell is Dark with No Flowers.― Somewhere between xxxHoLiC and Hell Girl lies Hell is Dark with No Flowers. If you think I've made that comparison before, you're right – Matsuri's Phantom Tales of the Night can also be described that way. But Hell is Dark with No Flowers, based on the novel of the same name by Yoru Michio, is the better use of the descrip...
Jean-Karlo looks at Lynch's influence across video game history, from Zelda to Persona.― Welcome back, folks! Longtime readers might recall that back in October of 2023, I found an old copy of the Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja artbook from Japan.
