Blast CN has done it again they moved a show without any notice!! Its a good thing I stayed up to watch Gundam otherwise I'd be posting this in the morning. Info from TVTome lists at least 4 more episodes of this season left!
Question Two: will CN ever show the compleat new Astro Boy?? I was just starting to get into the series when they jerked it off the air and then brought it back for a few weeks in a Saturday night slot!

I don't know. That sucks, although I wasn't watching it so it wouldn't spoil the manga I'm enjoying the hell out of. Hopefully more of the show will get released on DVD, although that should've happened a while ago!

Darn them, why do they always do that? They can't keep an anime as long as they can throw them.

What are you talking about? If anything, Cartoon Network's gotten more anime over the past year or so than they've ever had (not as much on Toonami these days, but still a fair bit on top of the massive amount going to Adult Swim). The only reason Cyborg 009 was dropped was so that they could encore .hack//LEGEND, so if anything this is an example of them letting their shows run.
I have no doubt 009 will be back, but my guess is .hack's the more popular of the two, so they decided to give it a second go 'round.

Cyborg 009 wasn't that good anyway. I'd rather have .hack// or Rouroni Kenshin on (even if its edited, I'll buy the series eventually)

.hack//LEGEND had all ready run its full series cycle and had been restarted when Gundam Seed replaced it in Oct., while Cyborg 009 was down to about it's last four episodes of it's second series. It would be nice if they had finished it and then CN could have restarted .hack//whatever? init's place??
How many more .hack// are there anyway??

At present, there is only the three series:
- .hack//SIGN (the prequel, 26+3 episodes)
- .hack (the main storyline, comprising of the 4 games for the PS2 along with the 4 episodes of .hack//Liminality which occur at the same time in the real world)
- .hack//Legend of the Twilight (the sequel, 12 episodes)

Actually there are MUCH more, they're just not well known or considered essential to the .hack//-verse.

You do realize we're talking about Anime, not the Video Games and whatnot.

I noticed that too when my VCR didn't pick it up. (I work overnight, so the VCR has become my best friend.) I did a little search on Cartoon Network's schedule page, but I didn't see it.
Maybe it's just not popular. Although, if that's the case, it's strange that Cartoon Network would bother getting more episodes. Maybe it was the timeslot? I'm not really sure. However, since the only dvd release was 9-ish months ago, popularity and profit seem to be the cause. But that's just an assumption on my part.
And here's the ole statement you could probably find someone say about anything; Well, it may not have been the best series available, but I still liked it.

They'll crop up at some point.
After all, in the Legend of the Twilight anime, they leave it open-ended at the end, hinting at more to come.
