Next weekend, the third of Sept, is Kumori-Con in Portland.
It's a newer con, now in its second year, put on by TUNAC from U of O. The previous con did well and they got more backing for this year's con. It's still a smaller one, last year was ~800, but will grow and be much larger this year. It will tend to be later in the year so that OUS folks can work on it (the Oregon University System doesn't start till end of Sept usually). They have a few guests, and it should be fun. I'll be going Saturday the fourth dressed as Black Jack.
Sakuracon is in April and is the major NW con, and isn't as big as Otakon or Anime Expo, but is in the Major leagues. Sakuracon is one of the first big cons of the season and has overseas and American guests. This year's included Datchi and Abe, along with Hiro and some American VAs. Some announcements are done there, like for Eva Platinum. It's the easiest big con for North Westerners to reach, and was quite well done. Except for that one guy in a white uniform Razz , I enjoy it.

Since I am off for Proffesional Development, I will make an appearance there as well (Try to find me, j/k). It seems like a very exciting event, and plus, I need to visit my daughter for her daughter's birthday party. Shocked

800 total, the building capacity. They need more space. This is quite nice. Tunac did well.

There will be a con called Seattle Comiccard Convention. Not much of a con, but it's something. It's on the 14th of nov. in the Northwest rooms in seattle center.
