? It feels like over 90% of the pics go right over my head, especially lately.

With 1 correct guess I made 25th place. Over in the Quote Guessing thread, I made 26th place with 3 correct guesses.
I think this means (besides that I haven't seen enough anime yet) that the quote game is moving much faster than this one. Is there a way to remedy this? Or do you think the speed of the game is okay the way it is? |

I think it's OK the way it is. The time limits for character and quote games are the same (10 guesses or 2 days, whichever comes first). I think both get bogged down from time to time, especially when someone posts something obscure. But, they always pick up.

You have to remember that the character game and the quote game ran for different durations. The character game runs for 3 months at a time, while the first round of the quote game ran for slightly more than 9 months (since late September 2008). The quote game restarts on the basis of pages (in this case, 150; in future cases, 100). It's expected that the numbers will be different. If you sum up the numbers for rounds Q4 2008, Q1 2009, and Q2 2009 for the character game, you will have a better idea of the pace of the two. I think the character game is actually slightly faster.
