Without being nitpicky, the lu is pronounced pretty similarly in French and English.

Umm... no, it's not.
If a French person were to write down the sound that most English speakers associate with "Lu", he'd write "Lou".

The French pronounciation of lu is a closed pronounciation that does not exist in English.

For anyone who doesn't know or understand linguistics (or know how germans pronounce ü) , the best possible explanation in writing is to simply say that is it pronounced similarly</y> in French and English.

where you made this statement was the post wherein you offered a sound file (using "lapin" as an example) to demonstrate how the second syllable of "Lupin" is pronounced in French. In other words, stressing correct pronunciation.

I thought it was interesting that the supposed Answerwoman thought people wouldn't like the first Lupin series becase it looked old. It shows how little she knows about actual anime fans. Anyone else notice she spelled Berserk with a z in the tiny print?

I'd infer a difference between Quebec French and Parisian French, but I believe you said you were native French originally, not Canadian.
