I too find myself wondering what big pay-off is going to justify all of these scene switches from present to future. The only one I can think of is that Takumi and his party are going to be on par or way more powerful than the "heroes "when they get there.
I've got to say that coach was a sweet ride. Reminds me of those camping tents in ummm....I think it was Deathly Hallows...that were magically home-sized inside. Putting them on wheels to make a magical RV Ultra would be icing on the cake.

I haven't been watching this but I did happen to see Tony K.'s post on the previous page about that sweet ride, so of course I had to check it out. One of the story sub-elements I like is "funky accommodation/funky vehicles." The RV carriage of course ticks both boxes. It's not enough for me to start watching the show, but I did appreciate seeing the carriage floor plan.

As of episode 8 the church has finally made their move. While the 7 or so assassins were taken out relatively easily it does mean time to get serious. It would be handy to have a ring or such that can deal with status ailments for starters. Otherwise the party now has a name and also feels like a true party and we are still getting flash forwards with the heroes for some reason.

The other slight plot advancer is that the female sumonee is, as anticipated, not buying into the Sidonian (sp?) Empire's propaganda , but she also has a friend/attendant that she cares about now. That means she also has a hostage to fortune.
And there's still one more beast person waiting to join the party in the wings...looks like a rabbit type? Lessee, they've got a warrior, whatever class the knife throwing cook is, two spell casters who can do healing and offensive magic, a melee spider....I guess the newbie will either be a stealth character like a thief or scout, or another fighter to back Sofia/Sophia up? Not exactly dressed for adventuring though. Maybe a merchant?

Ep8- This show missed such an opportunity by not having the party named "The Crapper Family"...If you know, you know...

Episode 8
After claiming I would not be adding this title to the menu, I went ahead and did just that, thus confirming that I am, in fact, a big liar, liar, pants on fire type of fellah. This happens to be a season of truly stellar isekai titles like Zenshu, Red Ranger and From Bureaucrat to Villainess. This is not one of those BUT much like Headhunted to Another to Another World and especially Middle-aged Online Shopper, it is an isekai that I personally find fun to watch. I don't see myself rating it any higher than So-So (5/10) but that score is misleading from the perspective of my personal enjoyment. I have to ding it for its generic look and familiar tropes, but on the plus side, I like the "guy accumulating more and better stuff" angle, I really like the fangirls and although there is nothing special personality wise about the MC, at least he doesn't annoy me or bore me silly. Oh and the sprinkling of Kingdom of Sidonia stuff adds a nice little story-telling spice. So yeah, a late addition but better late than never.

Yeah, the whole "accumulating stuff and/or making things better than they were" angle is pretty much what hooked me for this, Salaryman, and Online Shopper. None of these three shows is great from a the production side, but they manage to be enjoyable, nonetheless. But I agree Zenshu, Red Ranger, and Villainess Dad, are on a whole other level. They've got the production value to back up the, also very good, story concepts and/or quirks. All things considered, though, I think this is a pretty solid season for isekai.

And what is ironic about that is that at the beginning of the season, before anything had premiered yet, I thought I was isekai'd out. I almost didn't even bother sampling Red Ranger and From Bureaucrat to Villainess. I was annoyed there were so many isekai titles. It's almost like the Gods of Isekai heard my bitching and said, "oh, so you think you're done with us, eh? TAKE THIS!!!"
(Can't forget to cite Welcome to Japan, Ms Elf as another really solid contribution to the genre this season.)

Huh, when they talked about adding a tank to the party in episode 9 I was sure that the rabbit/hare girl from the OP was going to fill that role. That guess was wrong though and instead the party now has Titan the mecha golem. Otherwise the episode had Takumi being his usual self in assuming things and the church is becoming an even bigger threat. Or rather, the soon to be born spirit is going to be an issue (I like the concept of gods and such being born from prayer).

Episode 9
Welp, considering that we only have 3 episodes left in the cours, Bunny Ears ain't gonna get much run even if she is introduced in the first seconds of the next episode. This episode also answered a question I've had for a little while. I remembered that Takumi had whipped up some kind of magic barrier to protect that blacksmith guy they were escorting a little while back and I was wondering why he didn't do the same for his crib and lo and behold... Like smurky, I was impressed with the detail that believing and praying to a fake god for long enough will actually bring said entity into existence. That's a pretty common feature of Japanese mythology. I've watched many titles where the existence of yokai and gods was very dependent on people believing they exist.

Ep9- While I am still mildly liking the show, for a second after Takumi suggested he would dissolve the "contracts" I thought they would have a group love confession which would have been too much for my sensibilities. One could argue they did but it wasn't so overt as to trigger the mental gag reflex, so it's fine. However, the Babushka-Golem bit was a bit much, amplified by the over-the-top excited Japanese voice acting...
Mr. Roboto- Saigo desu, Master!!
Takumi- It's Perfect~~!
Me-That's just stupid...(I mean why? What happened to being the pilot Shinji?)
Reyva-It's a hangar!! (yeah, no sht...)

That idea about gods being created/maintained by the beliefs of their followers has been around for awhile. That part about her being an evil spirit makes the goddess being created sound like a blend of that and those tulpas from Supernatural, the monsters created when enough people fixate on an idea obsessively. Which took a Tibetan idea and gave it a slant towards eeeevill.

Episode 10 showed how OP the Takumi party has become. Dealing with a high level dungeon is barely a challenge and building a fortress town even less so. Of note is that all those flash forwards to the (evil?) heroes from the church did in fact serve a purpose. Said heroes have arrived in the present time and it seems likely that they will head to war against the town Takumi just build.
Finally, the episode introduced Mani and boy were there a lot of still images of battle.

Finally the whole team is together. So all the things we have seen in the future hasn't happened. So those male heroes haven't become a - holes yet.
The question I have when it comes to the dub, is why is the Fairy Tail guild master in this episode? I thought those types of actors are out of this show's pay grade.

Episode 10
Not sure what Mani's occupation in her old village was, but judging by her cocktail style short dress, I'm thinking Japanese bar hostess? Doesn't seem like the kind of garb that a farmer's wife would be sporting, not that I'm complaining. It's funny, I'm normally down on OP shows unless they are purposely over the top for comedic reasons, like One Punch Man or My Instant Death Ability is So Overpowered or if they are so over the top that they are inadvertently comedic, like I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World. Yet for some reason this OP show, which doesn't fall into either of those categories, is getting away with it and I don't quite know why. I do like the cast and I like how there's been a slow burn with the Holy Empire of Sidonia backstory (a slow burn that is now coming to a boil with the arrival of the Summoned Heroes) but on the face of it, that wouldn't seem enough for me to overcome my distaste for OP shows. Hmm, alchemy, indeed...
