I also spend quite enough money on anime and manga like fighterholic, for instance, and then let them rot in a box or on my shelves cause I don't have too much time to watch them. But then as soon as I have some spare moments I start to watch them in big chunks. Meaning, I want to finish all the series in no time. But there are series that require me to forget about such a method (for instance The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or Ergo Proxy practically obliged me to watch them really slowly and be attentive). And this is really easy when it comes to short series on just a few DVDs, but it's just much much harder when it comes to big series.

I also have to know the ending of one series, no matter how bad it is. I hate when this happens (especially when I don't have the final episodes or the final DVDs). Rolling Eyes

My final habit that I can think of is I usally like to eat when watching anime or at least drink something.

Oh, yes, definetly one of my sins too Embarassed I like to get comfortable and then have something to eat or drink near. Thank God, I walk a lot and I haven't become a whale yet! Laughing For the first time I'm happy that my parents didn't buy me a car. Wink Laughing

Oh, and another habit of mine: I like to be quiet when I'm watching anime; meaning I hate when people start to enter in my room and ask me about something, or the phone is ringing or whatever... I just hate when I'm interrupted when watching something and anime in particular.

I tend to buy in bulk online as

a) not a great selection of stores over here (particularly where I live, I think there is 1 that sells anime/mange)
b) all very expensive

Also I mainly watch fansubs and then buy the series that I like. There isnt much anime on TV here so its hard to get an idea of a series and I really dislike the idea of buying "blind".

So just spent Eur500 on a number of series that I've been meaning to get. Probably do that every 2 months or so. Put a list together and get them all at once. I have usually watched them all subbed so there isnt any rush to watch them again so I tend to buy 1/2 that I haven't fully seen just for something to look forward to.

I also dont like people interrupting me while watching anime but that pretty much for anything, books, tv, games. If you are engrossed in something it will always be annoying to get interrupted.

I also tend to like to go on marathons. Watch an entire series back to back if possible. Dont like leaving stories unfinished Smile

My viewing habits seem to be inline with the majority here. I can't watch just one episode of something, I have to watch at least three to four. If I'm really into a series, I marathon it until my eyes bleed or I fall alseep. (Quite the addiction)
I always try to keep up a good pile of "yet to be watched" anime so I can fall back on a show whenever I have downtime, and have the ability to switch between shows if I get bored of one.

I don't have a job, so I rent anime via Netflix. I get one disc a week (thereabouts) and then there's a couple fansubs I keep up with (I need my NANA or I go crazy), but that's about it. My DVD collection is pretty pathetic; I've got Kiki's Delivery Service, Laputa, and Spirited Away, then vols. 1-7 and 13 of Fullmetal Alchemist (I'll be buying the other five soon, though.)

Basically, if I've got access to a series, I'll watch it. I stayed up until 5 AM once marathoning FMA on YouTube. Sometimes, however, the mood of a series will be so intense that I can't stand more than two or three episodes at a time (Air) or I'll just get bored with it after about five episodes because of the formulaity (xxxHOLiC). Still, I try to finish everything I start. I think the only anime I ever took on that I didn't finish was Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, just because it didn't make me care enough about what happened to everyone.

I discriminate whole heartedly and proudly against unoriginal, boring, making my eyes/ears bleed anime and will not hesitate to delete it from the face of my computer in a heartbeat. I've only run into a few series that were so bad, I had to drop them within the first few episodes.

I usually like to enjoy my anime slowly, and with some variety. 90% of the time I can't just marathon a series, because then I feel like the quality of the show just decays. A typical day for me is to watch an episode of a series, and then watch another episode of a different series. It keeps me thinking, and very rarely will I give into the temptation to indulge myself on a marathon type viewing. Plus, I don't have that kind of time except for on weekends and I'm busy even then.

What's the rush anyhow? My computer's not going to run away anytime soon. Rolling Eyes

I have only two ways of watching an anime series:

1-On TV (Animax)
2-On YouTube

And I can stay up almost all night watching series on my PC (Option 2), as I did with Ouran Koukou Host Club.

I think on my vacation this summer, I just might try to stay up 24 hours and watch anime with ocassional food and bathroom breaks. Laughing

You gotta try something at least once right? And I certainly never did ANYTHING like that when I was a teen!

I tend to usually watch an anime to the end like most people have said. No matter how boring it is, how badly dubbed it is or how unoriginal it is, once I start watching it, I have to finish it. I mean sometimes I can't stand the series but I have this compelling feeling to finish it. It actually gets kind of annoying when I have to do something, but realize that the anime is on and I must watch it. I never skip episodes but sometimes I wish I could, without the guilty feeling side effect.

I'm a fellow Netflixer, and what I do is:

I'm on the "3 DVD at a time" plan, so I keep it limited to 3 series' at a time, one volume of each series at a time. I actually spend much time on my Quere page arranging things so that three volumes of three different series' reach my house each time.

However, there are other series' that I am watching by release (Negima!, Elemental Gelade, and Shana) so whenever one of thse gets released, I bump the volume up to the top of my list.

Also, as a rule I made to myself, once I decide I want to own a series I saw from Netflix, I immediately delete the other volumes from my Quere, whether I buy them immediately or not. That reminds me, I still need to pick up Chrono Crusade Wink . I think the only exception to this rule was Please Twins; I finished that one through Netflix but still bought the Anime Legends release.

I also tend to finish what I start, but there have been a few that I just refuse to watch any further. If I even mildly enjoy it, I'll finish it.

In the downtime while waiting for my discs to arrive, I'll rewatch something from my collection, or play particular episodes from finished animes that I really liked. This is, ofcourse, if I'm not doing something else (drawing, reading, going out, etc.) Oh, and my late night veiwing usually includes some sake, another bad habit Embarassed

It really depends. There are shows I casually watch every week, like Bleach and Death Note. Whenever I land a box set, I'll watch it pretty fast when I get around to it, sometimes I'll marathon, depends on my mood. When it comes to stuff I've already seen, I don't watch them frequently. I enjoy coming back to them after a long period of time, I always get some new kind of meaning out of it that way. Its almost the same experience, but it feels good to have slightly changed perspective.

I like to eat stuff when I'm watching something I'm not completely absorbed into. Usually, when it comes to anime, eating is too distracting. Sometimes a drink is good, though. EDIT: I'm neurotic about having a dark room, and I never buy DVDs with poor A/V.

Sometimes a sitting lasts an hour, somtimes two, sometimes half a day, sometimes till sun down; and sometimes, a minute.

I remember not being able to stomach more than an episode of Monster each day the past break when the surge of depressive thoughts grew unbearable. Sometimes an anime series beckoned me to sit till my brother had to pry my hands off the keyboard the minute he got home from work. Sometimes they annoyed the hell out of me, especially if some of the scenes emphasized cokyness and not the actual fighting.

Sometimes I could watch the entire series without noticing I had gone through the whole thing, which leaves me wondering how I stave off the need for more.

When I am actually viewing anime I normally watch an entire dvd or a few episodes since it easier for me

Im kind of like this. I do like to watch more then one episode on a dvd, but I usually only watch one or two because I like to savior it lol. I just don't like to pay $20 for a dvd and watch it all in one day, although I will watch it again in Japanese so its not a lost cause. If its a box set though I will tend to watch more episodes in one sitting or if I buy more then one dvd, or if the dvd has 5 or 6 episodes on it.

i watch every anime from start to finish, without skipping anything. if im not getting into the anime, i just figure that im not in the mood for that genre of anime so i watch a differnt genre of anime instead. then i'll get back to that anime later and watch it from the beginning

My anime -watching habit is to assign a anime to a day of the week. For example I will watch nothing but naruto for Monday and then watch FLCL on Tuesday and so on. So, that way I can be organize and make sure that I do not spend too much time on a certain anime.
