Cassherns crossed over a handful of things, mostly within Tatsunoko of course. Oh and I just remembered another dream crossover... Science Ninja Team Gatchaman X Fantastic Four |

Mike I believe that King Kong vs Godzilla was the very first Hero vs Hero collaboration since it came out in 1962.

Crossovers exist to be the most wonderful kind of fanservice. Some of them work because of distinct similarities between the two or more universes involved; others just happen, but don't do anything beyond sticking to their guns. My experience lies more with video games, like Cross Edge, Trinity Universe and Project X Zone, but I won't deny I've had my share of ideas among the anime and manga world.
Speaking of which, there was a proposed crossover for Superman and Dirty Pair that was approved and set to happen, but DC backed out. It'd have been a great "East meets West" thing for its time had it come to fruition, and seeing the two distinct art styles clash in a seemingly madcap ball of furious action would have been worth it. It was going to be called "Jupiter Brain", and judging from the title alone, it likely would have involved Brainiac being the big bad for the run. For me, there was one dream crossover I wish had actually happened in the comic world: Justice League and Transformers. Two pieces of epic cover art were made, but it unfortunately never came to be. From what I heard, DC Comics turned it down (and never made any kind of statement as to why). As much as I love the DC universe and its characters, the folks in charge need to stop getting cold feet for ideas like this. I mean Marvel got to mix the Avengers with the Autobots for a short run back in the old days and they did the same with Godzilla, so why DC was afraid to do the same in the modern era is beyond me. Comic crossovers are a fact of life; they happen because they can. If I had to go with anime, I would love to see Akame ga Kill mix it up with another series, but I'm not sure which would fit. I keep thinking of it crossing over with a game, but which game world would be able to handle the intensity and constant killing is still a mystery to me.
Okay this right here, this I would genuinely pay money to have made. :D |

@belvadeer Fox would need to lose the rights first for the FF brand to return. The comic is currently cancelled to not promote Fox. Bah.
JLA/Avengers is a great comic btw. and the 2 companies currently hate each other too much to return to the days of team ups. I slept on it gang. The BEST crossover of all time is, drum-roll please: Fun fact:
That handshake is still at least a decade off... Batman and Superman each have a biological son (their new Rebirth series will start in the summer) and both played the adoption game, so the divorce would be a cruel one, to end Mike´s joke. |

It's a shame the reported Marvel/Tatsunoko crossover never happened. I imagine Toei came in and offered a better deal and we got Avengers Disk Wars and/or the Disney buyout affected it somehow.

Still waiting on that One-Punch Man Vs. Empowered crossover Adam Warren wanted to do since, like, 2012.
But having recently binged Venture bros. it serves as one big love letter to western comics, Hannah Barbera cartoons, and movies of all kinds. It's only a matter of time before we see Kamen Rider or Godzilla get lampshaded in alongside Not-Fantastic Four and Not-Amalgam verse JLA. |

My brother-in-law and I both loved the 009/Devilman crossover. He was huge on The Cyborg Soldier when it was on TV, and I just love Ishinomori's stuff. I also loved the tiny bits of fanservice in the show; one of the High Teens was designed based off of Great Britain's "kid"-body in the black-and-white 009 show, and one of the bar-goers in a scene with Great Britain is 002ls more realistic design from the recent film!
I was bummed by the absurd amounts of exposition thrown everywhere, all the explanations for cybernetics and demons, but these three OVAs are so, so solid--even if you don't know anything about the characters. Also: I found it humorous that the first episode took up where The Cyborg Soldier left off, but conveniently ignored Miki's eventual fate in Devilman. I mostly dislike crossovers, though, because I don't want to see heroes fight. People always put crap-effort into finding reasons for heroes to fight each other, I hate it. If I had to see two heroes meet, though, I want to see Spider-Man meet a Kamen Rider. It works out, because Japanese Spider-Man exists in Earth-51778, and Kamen Riders could feasibly come from there as well! |

There is a Riverdale TV series in development for the fall. With the Punisher appearing on Daredevil recently it would allow for a crossover. |

I recently watched Cyborg 009 Vs. Devilman on Netflix and as a fan of both(especially the manga versions) this was such a fun treat that mixed them together well. The English dub is solid too I thought.
I'm just surprised Netflix released this, it came out of nowhere and the fanbase of Cyborg 009 & Devilman is not massive so I wonder how casual viewers will react to something like this. Well I'm glad it happened. |

Cyborg 009 vs Devilman was so good. Georgeous animation, violent fights, JAMProject on OP and ED, just Oozes style. If I had one complaint it was a tad to weighted to the 009 side (Devilman barely has a role in episode 2) and it felt 30 minutes too short due to the sheer size of the cast involved.
Basicly it feels like a 009 story featuring Devilman, rather then an even split. But again, solid stuff. I'd like to see more productions like this. |
