Oh, geez! I can't believe I got suckered in by spoiler[Infinite Stratos] (although given the nature of that series, something like this quote could have easily come from it). I have now placed exactly where it's from and who said it to whom, and this time there's not a shred of doubt that I'm right. Ugh!
And DuskyPredator: You never participated in the series discussion for this title and it's not on any of your "Seen" lists, so it's quite possible that you haven't seen the source title. (But then, it's not on my woefully-incomplete "Seen" list either, so. . .) |

I should have remembered this after hint 2. spoiler[Character A is Mizuha Miyama, Characters B and C were the TV commentator and host. Were they named? The commentator had what looked like a name superimposed on the screen, but I can't read Japanese and it wasn't translated in the subtitles nor listed in the closing credits. Anime is Magic User's Club tv series, episode 1.] Context: (kinda spoilerish for the original OVA) spoiler[The magic user's club is moving the cherry tree, the remnant of the alien bell they defeated in the OVA. It causes a commotion in the city as the tree walks through and Miyama thinks she's the person to stop it, since the bell grabbed her in the OVA.]

Sayaka is demanding that Homura give them the grief seed from Charlotte, because it's Mami's, and Homura tells them it's only something that concerns Magical Girls, so they don't have a right to touch it.]
