spoiler[I've heard him being referred to as Bahamut SIN before somewhere, (I think Neo magazine... but I'm not too sure).]
Not too sure with your opinion on the dub Joey, since I rate it as high as Triguns dub, one of the only one's that I prefer to the subbed version.

spoiler[So it was meant to be a completely new Bahamut, makes sense. Reminds me a lot of a mixture between all 3 Bahamuts.] I've always wanted to see beautiful renditions of Shiva, Ifrit, and dare I say a Fat Chocobo?

I'll probably watch it again tomorrow at full blast and hopefully my mind will change about the dub.

I forgot to mention how many memmories the music brought back. It felt like Jr. High all over again. [spoiler]

I was thinking the same thing, but then realized that that particular extra was probably produced in Japan and Sony didn't have the time (or think it was necessary) to splice in scenes from the English version.
Still pretty lazy since it keep getting delay. All it is images from the game with updated soundtrack. It maybe be important, but the saying goes, "Every little bit counts."

But there might be a re-release(same game as psx) for psp because SE loves re-release lots of Old games..
Didn't I said, "Since Square has a history of bring past Final Fantasy back, chances are we might see it on PSP or NDS, just don't get your hopes up for being this or even next year (Although it's rumored for PSP sometime.)".

Those rumors cause by stupid FF fanboys. i still have the E3 05 video. SE president said "they have no plan of remaking FF7 right now" after showed the FF7 opening video in PS3 conference.
No plans... right now. Again, "However, they have their hands full with other projects." It is rumored that Square Enix is going to show off Final Fantasy 13 at E3, as well as others aim for Playstation 3. Heck, this remake might come toward the end of PS 3 cycle. So, I take it that you read only one sentence of what I wrote.

If they going to remake in my lifetime, great. If they don't in my lifetime, meh. Never really cared for 7 to start with.

I'm assuming you didn't get the 2-disc set, as 5.1 DD is the only format for both languages on that disc. If you did get that set, then you had to watch the movie silent.

I do have the 2-disc edition. But the problem came from the all region player I was using. When I first bought it, it could play Stereo or DTS, and would not pickup DD 2.0 or 5.1, even with the optical cable installed. Then one day, it just started picking everything up.

The way I listened to it was by manually setting my sound system to a Dolby Pro Logic field, which automatically makes just about anything into a synthetic 5.1.

I later played the movie on my PS2, and it picked up the 5.1 perfectly, so yeah, no worries.

And what's this about a 3-disc edition Shocked? I haven't seen it anywhere. Maybe I can just give this one to my friend for his birthday coming up in June and get the 3-disc version for myself, instead Razz.

Sneaky. I've done something like that before. Anime smile

Has anyone else heard about a version that cost $100+? That's probably not the right price, but it came with tons of extras--figurines, scripts, a fancy box, etc.--and was too expensive for me to think about buying. I think it was supposed to be exclusive to Japan, but somehow there were very few sets availabe in N. America (or not?). Was this just a rumor? Neutral

There was a limited edition sold in Japan that was worth roughly $250US, but it was limited to Japan sales only and is not scheduled for release in the US as near as I can tell. Any that may have been sold in the US were likely imported. I've dug around and have found no other version released or slated to be released in region 1 aside from the 2-disc package and the UMD. If there are other versions available they must be scarce or rare, because I haven't seen them anywhere.

Ah, that's it. It's said that there won't be any more releases of this edition, not that I would buy it (I'm not that big of a fan).

Places in my area that the DVD is sold out:

- Every Best Buy in the county
- 2 branches of Borders that I checked with
- Target

Wal-mart had 1 special edition left, which I grabbed, although there were a couple of AC/Spirits Within bundles still available.

I'm glad that it's doing so well, but really, is Sony trying to pull an XBox 360 on us? Or did they just totally bung up the predicted demand for the product? (After all the release date crap, I have to wonder...)

I went to my local Best Buy today and they were all sold out of Advent Children, as well. They were running a deal where you could buy AC/Spirits Within together for $25, but they had a bunch of Spirits Within and no copies of AC!

I haven't heard anything about a 3 disc special edition either. In fact, I believe the only copy that is available is the 2 disc "special edition"... what makes it special if it's the only one available?

It has been said in this topic that the 3rd disc does not go in the case. Could this possibly be just an extra disc with extras that is given when purchased at certain stores? I know my local Circuit City always does this. When my girlfriend bought Hitch, it came with an extra disc that you picked up at the register. I know other stores sometimes pull the same thing. Kind of like an incentive for buying it at their store, gee you think they could atleast lower their prices to the lowest in town cause that would be way more effective.

A friend of mine preordered the SE at Gamestop and he said he got a "bonus disc" (which I assume is the 3rd disc that everyone is talking about). I guess it's one of those in-store specials.

Is FFVII AC considered a full fledged anime? I don't know if I should put it in with my collection. I kind of like where it's at now though, the very first anime disc right next to Akira.

Yeah, just Gamestop has that offer. So, if you got a GameStop in the area, you better grab becasue they are going like hotcakes at Denny's. You can order it online too for, the last time I checked, $20 (Not with Shipping and other junk). While, now this is strange, the PSP version with the bonus is going for $5 more. Confused Aren't UMB already getting a raw deal.

Hm.. that's probably what I'm hearing about then. Oh well, seeing how it's a Gamestop exclusive, it probably isn't much anyway Razz.

It's animated, and it's from Japan. I think that's the general defintion most people use these days for the term "anime." So yeah, I'd say it is (just like the newer Appleseed movie). I put it in the F section of my collection.

Why not? It is animation and it is from Japan.
