As far as I searched, the last arc (Final Battle) has 2 sub-arcs: Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown.

The news about the movies only mentions the first arc. Is the arc that long for three movies or do they simply refer to the two arcs as "Infinity Castle"?

It is that long, and I am afraid it's not even enough for 3 movies. some people already felt infinity castle arc should have been expended on a little bit more in the manga.

mugen arc was 13 chapters. and it was a 2 hours long movie.
just the infinity sub arc is 44 chapters, so that's about 2 more chapters to cover per movie, I guess they could do it if every movie in the trilogy is 2 hours. granted that means there won't be any expanded stuff like some people have hoped.
unless they make the movies in the trilogy (or some of them) a little over 2 hours.

but there is definitely not enough room to adapt both of the sub arcs in the trilogy.

Watch them turn each movie into a TV season too.

Demon Slayer has quickly become the most exhausting anime to watch.

Are they gonna split the last movie into two parts while they're at it?

It's going to look gorgeous but damn, I wanted a regular TV season next year to finish this series. Films always take waaaaay longer to come to Crunchyroll. Still waiting for the Spy-Family movie that released like 7 months ago.

If they release one movie per year, we are looking at 2028-2029 when we can finally watch the whole thing at home. Like the Matrix would say: not like this.

But after Mugen Train, I guess they just wanted ALL the money, and I wouldn't blame them.

Not two but three movies, we aren't that lucky.

These are definitely not the final movies. The final arc of demon slayer has its own name: "Sunrise countdown". So, I wouldn't be surprised if there's another movie just for that arc after this trilogy

Hopefully they just don't do a Mugen Train and do the whole thing again as a TV season

At this point, with how much they've devoted to stretching out the material, I wouldn't be shocked if they did the same thing for each movie. Think about it: release the film for the box office, then cut it up into like 8 episodes with some bonus footage for a TV run, then repeat two more times! Milk every last cent from this thing!

yep, I predict the same thing. 3 movies, then rerun each movie as a tv season with "extra scenes". and then after all that they will do final arc.

despair

Unfortunately I can envisage exactly what will happen.....

1) Film gets released
2) Film runs forever at Japanese box office (Mugen train ran for MONTHS)
3) Release theatrical blu-ray
4) As next film is about to be released tv edition of the last film to coincide with new film opening at box office
5) Release TV edition blu-rays with a few extra new cuts

Rinse and repeat 5 times.

I'll repeat - Mugen Train ran for MONTHS at the Japanese box offie - I expect these to be a year apart

Maybe we'll get right before Sunrise Countdown and they'll announce that, to build hype for the final arc, they're going to delay it in order to release a DBZ Kai-style terse remaster of the original series. Laughing

Wow, how are they going to get satisfying movie ending to 3 whole movies covering 1 arc?
