I have doubts it would ONLY be Toriyama estate who would decide. Shueisha has copyright too.

Shueisha only has copyright in that Toriyama (or, now, his estate) chose to continue working with Shueisha. As we've seen before with mangaka like Hiroyuki Takei or Yukito Kishiro, if Bird Studio/Toriyama's estate wanted to just up & leave Shueisha & take Toriyama's works to another publisher, they're well within their rights to do so since they own the original manga.

However, I don't see that happening in any way, in this case, barring Shueisha royally screwing the pooch & doing something that really pisses of Toriyama's estate, which I think Shueisha will do everything it can to prevent losing one of its biggest money makers.

I hope that by ending the manga eventually will avoid any cliffhangers, something which I despise.

At least if there is an ending hope it is better than GT.

Somehow, I am just not scared about the future of Dragon Ball, as long as there will be anime post Daima.

I always enjoyed fillers, and non-canon movies, and DBGT, games as well, even Heroes for what it is - a simple series of promos.
IMO, 21 from FighterZ games is one of the best characters in the whole franchise.

I do think that whoever is writing the future stuff doesn't go "What would Toriyama-san do if he was here now?" too much on themselves.

Somehow, reading that "Dragon Ball Super" is going on an indefinite hiatus isn't a surprising thing. They've got a lot to sort out, including whether this manga should continue. Hopefully, they'll figure it all out soon. And,believe me. There's a lot to figure out, like how the fans are going to feel about all of this.
