^If Kodansha is part of the committee then probably the notable boost in the manga sales was enough to warrant the continuation

Wow this is so surprising because so many people speculated that this wouldn't get a 2nd season!! Glad this story defied all odds and all expectations xD

On the one hand I welcome these news because I am enjoying the show immensely, and I want more Konatsu and Yotaro in my life. On the other hand my experience with this franchise might sour if the anime is not picked up for disc distribution in North America.
Still, this is a most welcome development. EDIT: A very minor gripe with ANN. I wished you had reported this after episode 13 premiered on Crunchyroll; it airs today at 4:00 PM ET.

I'd basically given up hope on a second season, so this is a really pleasant surprise. Looking forward to more Konatsu, Yotaro, and Yakumo/Kiku, since the first season didn't give that dynamic much screentime.

10th last volume of the manga supposed to come out this summer i think? I have no knowledge in those kind of things, but i hope it will come out\start this year. At the same time i don't mind waiting for quality sake <3 |

Honestly I feel like this was a planned split-cour from the beginning which means that sales won't matter that much.

Crying with pain from certain moments of the last episode and with joy at seeing the announcement. Never expected that to happen. Would have been content with having gotten what we got. But certainly not complaining about getting more of the wonderful gem that was this show. Is. As in present tense. Aw.....

As far as I can tell (from looking on amazon.co.jp) they haven't released any dvds or blu-rays yet, which is also really odd. This series seems to be an outlier in every way. 
But assuming this isn't an April Fool's joke (and someone's head will roll if it is), this is just the best news I'll get all day! Time to go watch episode 13. |
