Wow, these designs look a lot more generic than the ones from the novel art and manga... they look almost like something from a poor man's action anime with the small faces and chunky hair. I usually prefer when light novel adaptations go for a very stylish and distinctive look (like Denpa Onna or GJ-bu or No Game No Life.)
However since it's Trigger, they might just be streamlining the designs so that they're easier to animate in ornate action scenes!! Really detailed designs don't seem to be their style generally. I hope that when we see these designs in motion, they'll win me over and make me fall in love! :) |
