Awesome, too bad I live in northern CT and I assume the closest showing will wind up being in Hartford or New York. Sad

It's definitely worth seeing in theaters though.

Sounds awesome, I've noticed before that anime movies usually get at least one screening within an hour of me so I think my chances of seeing this in theaters is pretty good!

Yes, I hope this means more then just New York and LA. This seems like it really meant to be seen in a theater but even I have limits on how far I will travel to go see a movie.

Yeah me too. Especially after I watched the Special version of the trailer. I love the art style. Reminds me of Dead Leaves.

Subtitled? In a movie theater? Manga Ent is going to lose money on this. Hopefully it's an extremely limited release or it's shown at larger conventions

Depending on how they're planning to present it, I know we have an Asian film festival in town it would likely do well at. The La Jolla AMC gets all those opera special events. Can't see this wouldn't fit right in with that atmosphere

Nice, hopefully I'll get a chance to see it in LA. Been looking forward to watching this since Tim Maughan's review.

I was lucky enough to see it during the show in Austin and given another opportunity I'd gladly go and see it again. It's a film made for the big screen and if you get the chance to do so jump on it. You won't regret it. Very Happy

I've heard the subs for other showings (Australia) were not that great, so hopefully that won't be a problem.

Not that there's going to be much of a story to a movie that's an animation wankfest (in a good way!), but I'm totally looking forward to it. I feel fairly safe in assuming there will be a showing near me.

This is why I love anime! Now why, dear lord, are we not getting more of this, but instead choking on the unmp-tenth generic harem, eroge, or moe fest?

Damn, Redline is gorgeous! I nearly fainted, it's been so long since I've seen anything of this caliber. It's made my poor cynical heart hope again.

Actually, it's much more common for foreign films to be shown subbed in theaters than dubbed. Other than anime, it's fairly rare for foreign entertainment to be dubbed at all. Even most foreign horror movies are no longer dubbed. Not to mention, with the exception of the Disney/Ghibli releases most anime films are shown subtitled first (Eva remakes, Haruhi, etc.)

Most subtitled films do have more limited releases though. The widest subbed releases I can think of were the Del Toro films (Pan's Labyrinth, The Orphanage), and some Asian action flicks (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.)

I would like to check this out, but I doubt it will be playing anywhere near me and I don't think I'd be willing to travel out of state for a viewing. But I guess we will have to wait and see.

Damn. With Eva 2.0, Summer Wars, and now this--the next few months are gonna be chock full of anime in theatres. I'll try to see them all.
