I actually stumbled upon the channel this weekend and THOUGHT we had it, but I forgot that my family does not subscribe to the premium HD Tier. I took a look at U-verse's website and it's only an extra 5 dollars a month. So that's $5 extra a month to pay for 24/7 anime...sounds like a good deal.

U-Verse isn't that great though if anyone is wondering. We get a good deal on the service since a relative works for the company, but one of the major drawbacks is that since there's 5 receivers in the house, only 4 can be active at the same time, the 5th one can only watch shows that are currently being recorded or anything "On Demand" and DVR'ed. It's a real hassle sometimes when everyone in my household is awake and doing our own thing sometimes.

Looks like I'll be handing my parents an extra 5 bucks a month every time I have to pay for some of my bills :p.

What channel did you see it on? I'm pretty sure we have the premiere HD tier but I can't find it.

Channel 1484

D. Grayman is on right now Smile.

It says on the post as well. I just took a look at my account manager and confirmed that it is 5 dollars to add the channel.

ANN can add that to the story, might help people purchase the channel and support Funimation asap.

The channel is available on channel 1484 under U-verse's Premium HD Tier.

I expected nothing less from AT&T.

Aw man, I just checked and we don't have the premiere tier (because we don't have those channels like MGM HD, Smithsonian HD, etc. Why would they put the funi channel on that package? The few channels they have listed here are things people would never watch. I'm surprised it's not offered in the normal HD channel package....

Yeah I had to do a double take when I was surfing television yesterday. I was like "FUNtvHD...no it can't be." I checked out the other channels on that package and they're not that great.

HDmovies might be worth a watch now and then, other than that it's like subscribing to Crunchyroll for me. My buddy has Verizon FIOS and told me on weekends they re-cap all the episodes they aired during the week in mini-marathons.

I wonder if Funimation will consider posting some of their mature shows (Rin, Strike Witches, etc.) late at night. It seems like they tap into a good variety of their shows though as is with Beck, Honey and Clover, Slayers, and Claymore. Nice variety and it looks like my DVR is going to have a field day recording all this stuff!

I also ask for this. Of course, all I've gotten so far from my emails sent to TWC is the generic "thanks for your feedback" kind of responses. Bleh.

For those who don't have AT&T U-verse and want the FUNimation channel, have you called your television service provider about requesting the FUNimation Channel because if they do not know there is a demand for it, they will not provide the channel?

I've had Funimation Channel on FiOS for several years. It's included in FiOS's Premium tier. It costs a little extra but what do you do, eh?

A few things for those who are now able to get it for the first time.

A DVR is your friend because the commercials suck. Unless you like chef Tony and his ilk, of course.

Watch out for skipped episodes. I don't know why but every once in a while the channel will miss an episode in the middle of a series. For instance, last week they skipped episode 9 of Samurai 7. Went directly from ep. 8 to ep. 10. This usually only happens with longer series, 13 ep. series are usually fine. When they rerun the series the missing episode has always been there, another good reason for a DVR.

Any given series will be repeated several times before it's rotated out and replaced with another. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as far as how many times it will run, sometimes it may be 5 or 6 times, and other times it can be on for a couple of years. Either way you'll have plenty of time to catch the entire series.

They do occasionally run more adult themed shows at night, usually on weekends. The operative word here is occasionally, it's been a while since the last one, and they will pixilate any naughty bits. If you want anything that could be classified as Hentai, you will want to look somewhere else.

Lately it's been all about TV series. Every once in a while they'll put a movie in the lineup, which they'll only run once. It's been awhile since the last one though.

On the weekends they do Weekend Rewind, where they rerun the weeks' episodes, in case you missed one.

I think that covers the most important stuff. Congrats on getting the channel, I've been pretty glad to have it.

I really want this channel on iO TV... but then again, I don't really know if I'd watch it a lot.

It would be nice to have an anime channel, but the thing with anime, at least for me, is that I find it hard to pickup and just watch. If I see an anime on, I wouldn't get into it unless I watch it from episode #1.

The only anime on the channel I would watch are anime that I've already seen... or own.

That's disappointing. But then again, there might be a reason for this that you've missed. For example, have they showed the episode that you missed on the same day as the last episode aired?

Like.. on day 1, they air episode 7, then day 2 they air episode 8, then day 3 they air episode 9 AND 10, then day 4 they air episode 11? Maybe the episode you missed was just aired at a later time on the previous day.

I wonder if they have a non HD channel available. Even if they do get added to DirecTV's lineup, I won't be able to get it due to us having to cut the HD service.

Yes. They only switched to an HD feed a few weeks ago, and the feed I'm getting at the moment is still SD. The channel is listed in the SD section of the program guide, so I don't see why it would be a problem.
