I though that you guys would like to know that: according to what is being reported on the IMDb database and The Movie Insider; the live action DBZ movie is tentatively scheduled for a 2007 release. The filming for the live action will take place at Sydney and New South Wales, in Australia by Fox Studios. It being directed by Roland Emmerich. Futhermore, Ben Ramsey and Tedi Sarafian will be writing the story and screenplay for the movie; based on Akira Toriyama's original storyline.

Also, according to a summary written by The Hollywood Reporter, the live-action movie will be based upon the "first 2 seasons" of Dragonball TV series; which are the Saiyan Saga and the Namek Saga. In related news, According to the July issue of Teen People Magazine, ‘Tom Welling’ is hoping to land the role of Goku in the upcoming live-action Dragonball Z movie.

Fox still hasn't released an official statement about the movie, since 2002. But the online fandom has recently created a online petition for the DBZ live action. They want FOX Studios to release an official word on the progress of the live action movie.

So what do you guys think about all this?

Nope, the only thing that has truly been confirmed is that Ben Ramsey is writing the script.

Someone just resubmitted the "Roland Emmerich as director" rumour, which was always 100% unsubstantiated Internet bullplop.

I know the Roland Emmerich rumour is a rumour because it's never been substantiated. Even the news stories about it, if you read them carefully, just talk about it as a rumour; the IMDb is only as accurate as the information it receives from people who submit. The burden of proof isn't on the person who says it's just a rumour, it's up to the person repeating the Emmerich as director rumour to prove that it is not.

The rumour emerged during the shooting of The Day After Tomorrow and the people spreading it seemed totally oblivious that Emmerich's next project was King Tut (and he may also helm an indie project called The Girls Next Door).

Thats very true... but really, its hard to imagine half the stuff they do. Actually, I would say screw the hair, and get some people like Jet Li to do Vegeta, lol. If not that, they should atleast be Asian, even though they seem white in the seriese.

I think anime should remain as anime. Some things just aren't meant to be live action. So I don't expect this movie to really be any good. Especially if Matrix Revolutions is any indication on how they would do the fighting. Same goes for the live action Eva. Anime isn't meant to be live action. Especially shows as over-the-top as DBZ.

Wow, I really hope this is true. A big-budget DBZ movie is destined for failure, and I hate Roland Emmerich's guts. It would be like killing two birds with one stone.

OMG... *sigh* well, if they do make a DBZ Live action, then lets hope a reputable company licences PGSM: Live Action (TV)

i think that they should make it. if it is good, then awsome, but if it sucks, then we can laugh at how much it sucked. at any rate, i think that it will be really cool

No, I'm pretty sure theres sometimes when a concept should be left alone. Another one is actually making an Aliens vs. Predator movie. Wait who am I kidding? I mean making and Aliens vs. Predator movie directed by Paul Anderson. Of course making a good DBZ live action movie would be a whole lot harder because it woud not translate to film at all. I really don't want to see some actor walking around with Goku's hair. I'm sure they would try tone it down like they did for Wolverine, but it would still look retarded.

ow great, i doubt that this movie will be any good but since we're talking about the cast, i'd say:
leonardo di caprio for vegeta Mr. Green
