i hate their music but i don't hate them coz yea we have anime (specifically gundam love) in common
p.s. a lot of my mainstream friends (who don't watch anime) like linkin park a lot and they have no clue about them liking anime i always thought LP should hide thier power levels more since they might become less popular in the states if people found out they like anime but whatevs it seems LP doesn't care i wonder if i'll see them at a con (not playing music just hangin out)
i think they are one of the few that fall into the rare category of "celebrity" otaku stateside

I dunno. Wouldn't an Evangelion game be a more appropriate choice for their music? Rolling Eyes

I don't like the colors either, but the gradient on the shield is cool.

Here's another image of the gundam.

The gradient IS cool, but you think they could've thrown a little more cash out for a third color...

Oh, well...

Regarding the Black Rock Shooter stop-motion animation: The BD for it coming out in December only lists a "pilot trailer" of the stop motion animation in its special features (1). So I think it won't be released in full with the BRS OVA, but as its own separate thing later on.

With the people who worked on "A Nightmare Before Christmas," and Linkin Park, it sounds quite interesting. The few teaser images they've released of it and the real BRS prop puppet it uses look beautiful (2).

In addition, a deluxe box of the band's newest album, A Thousand Suns, will bundle a limited-edition Gundam plastic model ("Gunpla") in Japan on November 24.

I dare say this promotion would be of greater interest if it was extended to other regions also. Though quantitative approximations evade me, one supposes the international fanbase of a popular music band to be larger than that of anime by several orders of magnitude. Exposing such hordes to anime traits and emblems would hardly be undesirable.
