I have just finished the series. Well at least up onto eps 62 like I was recomeded to stop thnx to Tony K. I really thought the last four eps ended the arc very nice. I don't know what the Meji arc has other than a ton of spoilers so i will not watch it. Although a question I have about it is wheater or not some of the character I have seen up to the end of the Kyoto arc will return. In a way I wish that the creators of the show ended here giving it a definite cunclusion. I also wish Kenshin explained more about going to Tomoes grave. If anyone knows the true ending to this series which I think it is the manga one could they post it here or pm it to me thnx all in all from eps 1-62 I have to say this is my favourite series. (sigh) hopfully we will get more from this franchaise if that will happen.

balla, I will spoil post-Kyoto for you now just so you don't get your hopes too high.
spoiler[ You see NO ONE, but Aoshi meditating and drinking tea for 4 or 5 episodes (no fighting), you see Misao get put into a trance with no fighting for about 2 episodes, and you see Chou in one episode acting as a cop and he get's his butt kicked by Shougou Amakusa, who is a Japanese Christian trained in Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu and is trying to get revenge for the other oppressed Japanese Christians. Let's see, there's also an arc with that Yutaro kid, a fallen samurai lord who stashed away his shoguns's money, an arc involving ninjas and Germans looking for a magical plant, and then finally ends with a crappy Feng Shui arc. And as I told you before in the chat room, the last episode ends with Kenshin and Kaoru riding a raft to happy music, which I suppose is intended to give you some sort of peaceful resolve. It failed...] Please watch Tsuioku-hen again. Last edited by Tony K. on Tue May 24, 2005 6:05 pm; edited 1 time in total |

The real ending? Ok...spoiler[After they return to Tokyo, they get a notice of earthly revenge from Kenshin's Brother-in-law Enishi. Thus the notice makes Kenshin tell the story that is the first OVA. Enishi, after seeing Kenshin 'kill' Tomoe swore revenge. He traveled to China where he learned other Sword arts and became a arms dealer. He bankrolled the whole Meji-arc as an attempt to hurt Japan's current government and hurt Kenshin. He has a gang of elite warriors that use various weapons like canon arms and attack the dojo. Kaoru is seeming killed, causing Kenshin to give up on life. He eventually gets drawn out after Tomoe's diary is found and it is learn she did not want Enishi to hate Kenshin, whom she truly loved. Kenshin must travel to Enishi's island fortress to take back Kaoru. Saito joins with Kenshin and the others, as Enishi will try again to destabilize Japan. To cut to the chase, Enishi learns his errors and, I believe, he bites it. Yahiko masters the art, Kenshin and Kaoru marry, while Sanosuke reunites with his family, only to have to flee due to additional revolutionary activities. Megumi leaves for her hometown, but only after informing Kenshin that he must end his practice of the Art, as it is slowly destroying his muscles. We then get an epilogue five years or so later. Kenshin and Kaoru have a child that Yahiko meets when he visits. While there, he and Kenshin spar, with Yahiko winning. Kenshin then gives his sword to Yahiko, vowing to never use a sword again. He and Kaoru are assume to live happily ever after.]

And a fine ending at that... it's too bad we'll never see it properly animated. I believe it would have been excellent. Unfortunately those last 30 some odd episodes made what was a brilliant anime trickle somewhat down to a somewhat more mediocre one (when taking the entire series and all the OVA's in full) Ah well, even though I've seen quite a chunk of it beyond, I consider the eps after the Kyoto arc to basically be beneath my existence.

This is all so sad seeing how we won't get anything aniated. Although I still have hope. I guess I will try my best to get my hands on the manga. I am a bit surprised that there isn't more that deals with Seiko Kenshins master. But in anything Jininchuu comes out I will be the first to buy it.
