A series about a stage play becoming a stage play?
My mind has just been blown.

"Mysterious Play" like "mysterious game", not "mysterious stage show". I've only read the first four volumes, but at that point, Fushigi Yuugi has shown absolutely no signs of being about a play. It's more about a book than anything else. Now a novelization? That might blow someone's mind.

Yuugi as in yu-gi-oh.
Time was when noone wouldn't have known the show.
Actually, fy is interesting; it's got some really interesting ideas, but because it was like watase's first major work it's got some pretty major flaws as well: it's the sort of thing that could actually really be made to benefit from an adaption, where you can cut out the dodgy bits and just be left with the awesome. A stage play's an awkward format to adapt it into, though; most of the problems are with the shallowness of the—fairly large—supporting cast, not the sort of thing you can really fix within the time constraints a stage play offers. Which reminds me, I've got three volumes of genbu kiden on my to-read pile.

Wow, a Fushigi Yugi stage play. I have no problem with this, but the manga (and anime) ended years ago, so I'm surprised this is being done now. I can't help but think they should have done this long ago.

This play should've been about Genbu Kaiden. >>
Better characters, better storyline, better heroine, less "Miaka!" "Tamahome!"
Yeah, just sayin'.

Is this going to be a play or a musical?
Also, I want to see a cast list~ I'm curious to see if any TeniMyu veterans will appear in it. xD

Then consider your mind blown, because there's quite a few novel volumes in Japan (though technically they're sequel novels and not novelizations of the series itself, but they are semi-official since Watase does the illustrations). :]

I would like to see this, having read all the manga and watched all the anime.
I wonder how many times the main character will say "Tamahome" on stage.
