Personally i would love to see Nickelodean pick up more shows from funimation i think it would be a great idea seen as how Dragon Ball Z Kai has a high viewership.I also think Adult swim should replace some of their older shows in repeat like cowboy bebop and ghost in the shell and license new stuff.

Yeah, it would be nice if the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network put new stuff on there and I would like to see the Anime Selects, Anime on Demand channel put other anime that wasn't from Funimation like Shakugan no Shana, Black Lagoon, and Clannad for example.

I'd really enjoy seeing Hare and Guu on Adult Swim. Before I go any farther, I know this probably won't happen, but since it's not a taboo topic, might as well talk about this.

Since the final season of Hare and Guu has yet to be licensed at all and obviously hasn't been dubbed, I think it would be nice to at least see the first season on tv. Again, I know this probably won't happen, but oh well.

True, part of the reason I said that is only because I that somebody might state that "it's never going to go on television at all." Yeah, someone could still say that, but it would be rather pointless because while it's not impossible, the chances are quite unlikely.

Never and I mean never expected that Inuyasha would get a final season, so surprises do indeed happen. It's news that like that creates hope and makes me hope that one day maybe Rama 1/2 will be given the same treatment.

As much as I want anime on tv though, I am not sure there really is a market for anime on television anymore. Now if it were the early 90's, it would be an entirely different story.

Yea..I really Can't see AS ever airing a MOE show...EVER.

More realistically I hope someone gets Xros Wars. and that Scyfy or AS will get Durarara. I can easily see both of those on U.S. TV.

And Unrealisitaclly....Would love to see Lupin III & Case Closed on Boomerang..but sadly that will never happen. Laughing

Children in America aren't well-served when it comes to anime. There are many series that could be aired in America like Kemono no Sou-ja Erin, Cross Game, Dennou Coil, or even Moriibito. American network executives have such a low opinion of children that they'd never license shows like these. I'll note that all four of these shows aired in "family-friendly" time slots in Japan, usually Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings.

As I wrote elsewhere, American licensors want shows with open-ended stories that lend themselves to hundreds of episodes like Pokemon. Unfortunately shows with lots of episodes like Chi's Sweet Home or Higepiyo are also shorts. You could show four or five episodes of Chi in one thirty-minute period with commercials. I don't see anyone in the US signing up for that.

Other shows that might appeal to older kids include Noein, Basquatch, Daughter of Twenty Faces, Guin Saga, Nodame Cantabile, Rocket Girls, Shion no Ou, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, or even Twelve Kingdoms. Chances that we'll see any of these televised in the US? Close to zero.

Shows without obvious toy tie-ins are exceedingly rare in the US.

Cutting Edge on Demand aired Clannad subbed, then After Story subbed, then Clannad dubbed. If After Story gets a dub, they'll air that one too, most likely.

FYI, Black Lagoon is distributed by Funimation. It was originally a Geneon USA product, but it was picked up by Funi after Geneon folded shop in the US last year.

I'd be lying if I said I want to watch anything on TV anymore. I always get pumped up to watch anime, only to find out it airs at freaking midnight. I don't know about you, but I'm not going to set my Mondays around watching Monster. If they aired the show at nine o'clock or so I would've watched it more consistently. What is the point of airing Ghost Hunters rerereruns at 9 and 10 when they have perfectly new episodes of a show that can fill that gap.

Chances are the audience watching Ghost Hunters rerereruns on a Monday evening aren't going to mind watching a cartoon.

Many of us use DVRs to get around this problem. Hell, even Lucky*Star's Konata has a VCR that she uses to record late-night anime in Japan. She complains in episode nine about missing a show when the Koushien high-school baseball tournament runs into extra innings.

Unless you have to work early mornings, why would staying up to a mere midnight or a few hours past be a problem or at all hard for that matter? Personally I find it very easy, but I'm a night person I guess. I'd sleep all day and stay up all night if I could, but sadly work kills that idea. I don't know, maybe I trained myself with greater willpower than the average man or something because I work in irregular shifts all the time. Even if staying up is hard for you there's always solutions, like caffeine, an alarm clock, or a VCR/DVR.

As for the topic:

I don't know. Lots of the series I consider to be the best are usually the kind that won't have mass appeal if aired on a network like say AS. EX: Planetes, Haibane Renmei, Kurenai, Rumbling Hearts, When They Cry, REC, Welcome to the NHK, Baccano, Kanon (2006), BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad. All masterpieces, but would they have enough action or explosions to keep people watching? Probably not. Would I love to see them get more exposure though? Definitely.

To me this is a bit of a hard question to answer. On the one hand there are many series that I would like to see on TV in order to get them more exposure, but the problem is that although us dedicated anime fans would definitely watch them, the average viewer might not. The flip side to this is there are other series where while they might be the same old song and dance of anime that we as longtime anime fans see every year, these might prove to be more popular with a general audience and therefore expand anime fandom as a whole. Personally I'd love to see Natsume Yunjin-cho on TV (fat chance of that ever happening even if it is ever licensed in R1 though) just to prove the fact that anime can be deep and emotional and are not solely animated shows for kids. As for something more widespread I think One Piece (although after 10 eps I couldn't get into it and gave up) or Fairy Tale could do well.....I also agree that Baccano could be a good choice too.
