Will the uncut version of Yu-gi-oh on DVD use the dub actors in the 4kids version or the FUNI cast? And, Will they use the original Japanese opening and ending songs like "Kawaita"? I just wanna know, because I might be interested in checking it out.

As far as the dub info-- the reports have said that the same dub cast is being used (they're redoing some of the dialogue that was cut/editied)

Two words about the whole uncut thing :
Big deal.
We've seen the story. The only thing the unedited version will add are the deleted scenes. That's it.

thank you for being completely invaluable to this conversation.
I'd imaigne if they're going for "accuracy", then yes, they'd probably use the correct OP/EDs

if by deleted scenes, you mean the first season, then that's a big deal =P

We've also been promised the Japanese track so far which was why, as much as I hate the bootlegs, I was seriously considering buying the YuGiOh ones since we were only getting the dub version here. Several of my fav V.A.'s are in the Japanese cast & it's always been disappointing not to be able to hear it. (No, I don't download)
Even more, I'm looking forward to the uncut Shaman King & Takehito Koyasu as Faust. My 13 yr-old is making me re-buy the YuGiOh even though we have the dub-only version, although I can probably dump the dubs at Game Stop for something else.

Why, it's CCSYueh! I welcome a familiar face in these strange lands...
I'm curious; will the unedited Yugioh show the first couple of episodes? I believe that the first Yugi vs Kaiba duel was the third episode, I'm not sure. I saw the first episode of Yugioh fansubbed quite a while ago; a little too violent for young chlidren I suppose.

It's starting with the second season so the first episode on these DVDs will technically be episode 28.

Really? I thought they would at least show the first duel with Kaiba. I always thought it would be the first season. The DVD is called "The Shadow Games" for godsakes. You would think it would be the first season with a title like that.

So are they just releasing the entire thing uncut but in a different order, a la DBGT and "Case Closed?"
I never cared for the edited dub of this show, but I've always wanted to try it uncut. I just hope I don't get the urge to actually start playing the card game...
I spent enough of my high school life playing Overpower.

No, it'll be in order. The first season is really just filler and has little to nothing to do with the card games, the sole reason why the show is in the US in the first place. If the popularity remains then *maybe* they could go back and do the first season (assuming they ever bothered to license it). Personally, I think the first season was the only good season (I can't stand the idea of a show about card games) and probably would like to see it, but I don't expect to ever see it released.

The first DVD is called 'The Shadow Games' because, you know, there's that mini shadow game in it with Pegasus. Or, if you want to be creative, it's foreshadowing! Oooo.
I also want to see the real first season. From what I've read about it and from reading the manga (which I can only assume is somewhat similar at least) I think it's much better than this card obsessiveness they all have now. I mean, it's fine that they all have to save someone or the world and all, but really... do we have to save them with a *dramatic pause* card game?
And after all that, I like the show. How's that for logical reasoning?

If sales of the uncut dvds are good, we might see FUnimation release the 1st season in the future.
