Just watched the first episode and I have to say... looks pretty damn good!(Opening is also addictingly good) They've gone back to the original art style(Season 5's art was okay, but it just seemed out of place) and the main character(yes folks, he DOES have goggles) seems pretty interesting, since it looks like their straying away from the arrogant main character sterotype.

Now of course when it comes down to the actual DIGIMON...I'm not sure what so say just yet. Shoutmon seems pretty badass but their apparently going fr mech-esque transformations this time. Since this seems limited to the heroes' side I don't think this will abused TOO much, but I'm already hearing Gurren Laggan comparisons...

No episode 3 yet sadly, but I'm looking forward to it.

Honestly, after skipping season five after I heard it's kinda 'meh' and hit or miss, jumping into this was just ****ing awesome. The kickass OP, the 'I wanna help whoever I can' Main Character, the high energy digimon partner, the combining to become stronger (Which IMHO, works 'very' well as a new evolution element in the digi-verse) and just the over the top battles have brought me back to a very nostalgic and guilt free love for a 'classic' series.

It's good to see Digimon come back and KICK SO MUCH ASS. I mean yeah, it's clearly a kids show and I definitely have my vibes when I'm watching of, 'Ugh, yes, I get it, it's a kids show' but I'm really hoping we'll see this go in maybe a 'Dark Masters' meets main cast conflicted mash up of Adventure 1 over arching plot with Tamers character development.

I also hope we're gonna see Taiki's posse get developed in character. Zenjirou looks to make for a great 'Henry' this season and Akari has a lot of potential for good character development.

Episode 2... I have one comment to make...

I want to 'destroy' Cutemon. Just... Since I heard that thing start talking, I was quite filled with rage and a desire to kill.

CUTEMON MUST DIE.

Here's hopes we can get a really awesome season to make for the not so attention grabbing season of 5...

I doubt we'll ever get a tamers again, but if we can get close, I'll be happy. And I'll also be eager to say, I loved and enjoyed Frontier, it's only a bummer it didn't have characters I didn't love. Outside of Takuya (And his English VA really made me enjoy his character even more) I found the rest of the cast very meh worthy, regardless of the quality of the acting... Especially when it was composed of quite an amazing cast of Brianne Siddall, Crispin Freeman, Brian Beacock, Steven Blum, Michelle Ruff, that show had the composure of some of my favorite voice actors... But it couldn't save the 'okay' cast.

Anywho, enough rambling, that's all I've got to say for now.

Not having watched a Digimon Series since season 4 (Which is really didn't get into much), this one looks promising! I am excited for this.

OK, digimon was one of my favorite series that I grew up and still can go back and watch even though I am now 22. I have seen seasons 1-3 and some of 4 and 5(plan to watch them soon). I was excited for the new season. I watched the first episode thought it was ok but see they build on it. After episode 3 I rather go watch the english dub to bakugan. I love digimon but they threw everything I loved out of the series out of the window. For one the power levels, there are none. They have lilymon sitting on the side lines watching the fight and seeing there asses handed to them and does nothing. I liked the child adult ,perfect and ultimate. It told you how strong the villain was compared to the hero. there was progression and I dont see how they can do that except get new digimon to create new mega zords. This isnt pokemon, power shouldnt be based on who you have. Also I miss the little explanation of the digimon. They do have this at the end but they only do one digimon a episode.

Sorry for the little rant but this pisses me off as much as the new smurf movie. Trying to destroy our childhoods.

Just want to say, I don't think we will ever get a Tamers. That was brilliance. But this is very good. And has great animation

Given that I like
1) Digimon
2) Wars/armies in anime
3) Combining Mecha
and 4)Shoutmon's voice actress

this is hitting all the right buttons for me. There's a lot of shout-outs to previous seasons and other shows that I pick up on while giving Shoutmon probably one of the best personalities I've seen in a Digimon series. Usually the partner Digimon don't get a chance to actually be themselves (I think the only time that happened was again, Tamers) and are instead extensions of their partners. But Shoutmon is a force all on his own and I think the show is better for that.

I just wish the Foe Yay with KirihaXTaiki wasn't so obvious. Razz

Dorulumon's my favorite just saying.

(Blastmon is voiced by Norio Wakamoto/Emperor Charles. This is officially an awesome show)

Mmm, maybe then the best you can do is hope that the show gets licensed for airing on TV and gets a quality dub akin to that of the Frontier dub, which is by far the best out of the series so far.

Hope nobody minds the double post.

Just saw episode 3 and damn was it good. We got to see Shoutmon X3, Kiriha's got his 'character' defined, we're getting more info about the world and an enemy 'finally' got defeated for good.

The X3 Digixros transformation sequence was rather kickass, sure nothing different from some mecha combining anime thing, but still pretty cool for the series. It's clear though that there was a slight drop in animation quality right after that sequence, but that was fine due to the rather symbolic finisher move used on MadLeomon.

And glad it didn't take long for some sort of 'plot tool' to enter into the show, with the cliffhanger of the episode focusing on the Code Crown... Which I'm suspecting is the remnant data of a more powerful digimon, xros'd or not, that will probably allow Taiki to access other Xros' only through the use of those.

Or maybe he'll be able to use it to summon a Leomon to help fight on the Xros Heart army in the future? Either way, looking forward to episode 4!

The more I watch this, the more I really dislike the super glossy animation. I just never dug that. My little brother on the other hand, reallly enjoys this series, and he's just getting into anime so he thinks its cool he's watching a subbed series online ahah. Oh back in the days when fan subbed tapes cost 30 bucks.
