Yeah, I really liked the art too. Unfortunately...that was about all I enjoyed about it. It was so "normal" that I couldn't find anything to like or dislike about it.

And Misaho Kujiradou did the art.

Alright. Princess Ai is just an excuse for Courtney to be relevant again. No one really likes her anymore, after she sued Dave Grohl, because he wanted to release one Kurt
song that was never on CD until last year. She has the rights to his music, and exploits it as if she was actually involved in its production. If Yoko Ono was as much of a b*tch about letting Paul McCartney release John Lennon's remaining demos to CD, Beatles fans would have a fit. But Love gets a free pass, possibly because she's white, but most likely because Kurt "killed" himself. That is if he was actually able to fit a shotgun that long into his mouth while he was sitting cross-legged on the floor.

Love went to Tokyopop with the whole thing. It was her idea. I fail to see how that enables you to label the entire project as a dumb marketing stunt when it wasn't concocted by Tokyopop's marketing department in the first place. Since I knew that and apparently you didn't, I assumed you couldn't possibly be saying that the entire thing was dreamed up by Tokyopop's marketing department, since that isn't true. Now it turns out you were just uninformed.

My post wasn't excessively rude or nasty, I simply stated my points and expressed my frustration. I don't understand how I'm going "hog wild" at all. If by "you don't appreciate my attitude" you mean "I don't like it when people argue with me", then there's nothing I can do about that. You aren't immune to people responding to your posts, especially when you say things that have absolutely no facts or logic behind them at all.

This is what I meant by "think before you speak".

I don't care whose idea it was, and it doesn't matter. I never claimed that Tokyopop's marketing team created the concept, and I don't see why it needs to be so that I can call it a marketing stunt. The project itself is a ridiculous collaboration between Japanese artists and an infamous American celebrity that's being advertised non-stop. That's what I'd call a marketing stunt.

The way in which you "state your points and express your frusteration" comes off as extremely arrogant and brash. The way in which you talk down at people as if they're children and how you act as if the person you're conversing with is completely devoid of any common sense is quite irritating to me. I'm not just talking about this thread specifically; I'm talking about your posts in general.

By definition, labeling something "a dumb marketing stunt" is denying it all other meaning; you're suggesting that it is purely a product of the marketing department, devoid of all other quality. Since it was all Love's idea - who is a fan of manga and had been wanting to create her own for some time - I don't see how you can pin the blame on Tokyopop.

Advertised "non stop"? I watch a hell of a lot of the channels Tokyopop advertises on and I haven't seen a single commercial for it. I see ads in magazines and they have a new bookstore shelf with an image of the character on it but that's it. Maybe your arguments would be stronger if you didn't use hyperbole. I know that always gets me in trouble.

As for your second bit there, you're entitled to your opinion. When posts come around that have absolutely zero common sense behind them and clearly the poster did not think about his post before he posted it, yes, I'm going to come across as condescending, because frankly, that's what that person deserves.

I don't really care what you find irritating. If you don't want to argue with me, don't argue with me.

By definition? "Marketing stunt" is not in the dictionary. It's business-related slang. There is no precise definition labeling it as an "idea created exclusively created by a marketing division."

I'm not pinning the blame solely on Tokyopop, though I dislike them. They are the ones releasing this product, however...

I've seen Princess Ai advertised more than any one single Tokyopop title ever. I've seen the TV ad over and over again. Just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean they don't exist.
