Lotte has made an amazing business decision.
Watch as this gum flies off the shelves.
Fans will buy it and NEETs will think it's real.

I don't know if some of the Japanese females would appreciate some of the otaku breathing close to their faces after chewing the gum.

At least it would smell decent.

The commercial is great, it put a smile on my face. And then the comments here made that smile chuckle.

My sentiments exactly. So if you eat this gum, then put on some lynx products, you can generate your own 2D harem. Sweet!

I lost any enthusiasm for Haruhi after E8, but I have to admit this commercial was pretty well done.

Ikuta Toma, Johnny's Jimusho, anime, and Haruhi.
And GUM!
The CM combines all of my great loves in life. I honestly think I might try to import this gum just because of this.
But I have to wonder who the heck this CM is supposed to be aimed at. Somehow, I think screaming JE fangirls and otaku aren't quite the same audience in Japan? Although Haruhi might be a bit more mainstream.

Well...I love both anime and JJ guys but it seems to be an odd combination(it would have probably pissed me off if I was a JJ fangirl who hated anime/otaku)-still, I find it funny

What a fun commercial! This made me happy 'cause I REALLY like combining animation and live-action, too bad there hasn't been many good examples in recent (Out of Jimmy's Head, anyone?) I actually have almost never seen anime(-animation) and live-action combined. For some reason, in my head, it did NOT blend in together at all (I imagined it as anime practically pasted on top of animation), but it actually does quite well in this commercial!
What if they did a commercial of him encountering anime-Takemoto?
