Heh, well not surprised there... I mean Gundam has always been insanely popular... hmmm... I might as well give it a try to see what all this hype is about... But they're just so many series of it... I wonder which I should try first or start out with...

Go with the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta, Double Zeta, and Char's Counterattack if you want to learn the basic history in Universal Century, which the Gundam UC is set in. If you want pretty boys: Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED+DESTINY, and Gundam 00 are your best choices.

If you're just wetting your feet, the MSG movie trilogy is probably the best starting point. 08th MS Team and 0080 are next chronologically and round out the One Year War. They're all great and more importantly, fairly short features. If you don't like Gundam after watching those, you won't have wasted much time.

UC continuity as follows:

MSG -> 08th -> 0080 -> 0083 -> Zeta -> ZZ -> CCA -> Unicorn -> F91 -> Victory

I consider IGLOO alternate UC for various reasons...and it sucks...

Name some. Char circa MSG maybe, but that's a real stretch... The Universal Century just doesn't have many, if any bishonen characters...

Your Mileage of "Pretty Boy" May Vary and yours seems to be outdated. And it has a lighthearted joke.
