Hmm.... looks very speculative at the moment though. It's hard to see any company in Japan making such a name change because A) it's usually bad business to change a well known product, and B) the formalities surrounding Japanese business seem to make such a name change impolite. (Changing one's name is often self-serving, and could cause another company referring to them to possibly lose face in the process.)
Of course, I could be wrong in this, but it's hard for me to see why they'd make a change after all these years. |

Ok... weird. If this is true, I still really see no point in their name change. It's not like CLAMP was made up of their names to begin with, was it? And CLAMP is a nice, short, and now wellknown name... oi. Even if they do change the name, I'm probably still going to end up forever calling them CLAMP.

Hmmm....Clamp changing there name. I really see no need to. Clamp is easy to remember, its short simple yet it makes you remember it. Well, I'll probably still call them Clamp.

Two words: bad idea. Plus CLAM-JAM-FLY sounds like a name of a rapper. I don't like it.

Shocking, isn't it. I also like the name as the way it is. It's very simple...which makes it beautiful.

I'm currently trying to find more information on WHY they changed their names. I'm using a poor translating site to try to figure out if the Clamp site tells me anything. Too bad I can't read Japanese ...

I think that Clam Jam Fly is just the name of their site, 'because I've translated this part, " The private sight of CLAMP, "CLAM JAM FLY" is." (Yes, it's a beautiful translation). I may be wrong, but I hope it helps. This still doesn't explain the Clamp members name changes though..mmm...

KawaiiKitty is right. Clam Jam Fly is the name of their website. They're still referring to themselves as CLAMP within the site.

What about their name changes though? Like Tsubaki Nekoi? What happened to Mick?? Nanase's name to Ageha?

Why change their names? It would be basically pointless...anyway they still refer to themselves as CLAMP so that is good. But the other name changes? |

From what I've read, CLAMP was the name of the original doujin circle that CLAMP was spawned from. Originally it was of 12 members, and later became the 4 when they went professional.
Why they would change it...no idea. |

The person name changes might be true...but the CJF site is just an add-on to the main website; as the following quote from the 'About' section says:
Translates as "This is Clamp's private web-site", and links/banners/etc to the clamp-cjf site all sport "presented by CLAMP". So, stop crying alread! Clamp's Works is still in operation : Clamp Works [/url] |
