They're sure promoting the hell out of this, what with the one commercial you never see and no sign on the AS website other than the schedule.
I guess I wouldn't advertise Vic Mignogna's dry whispering too much, either. |

I really don't think they promoted FMA Brotherhood enough for Adult Swim.

But they have this brilliant advertising campaign where they just put 'new anime' on the schedule and wait until about a week or so before they air it to announce it on the web and hope word of mouth spreads the news.

Well.. almost no one of the general public really knew about Avatar before it came out, so..

I think this hasn't been advertised a whole lot because -cuts to Kanye voice- Adult Swim doesn't care about anime people. haha no but really, I dont think adult swim REALLY cares about anime so much anymore. They played with Moribito a bit. Geass got the death slot. And the amount of time anime has on the schedule has considerably shrunk to a few hours a week on one night. I think the only reason they're even showing FMA: Brotherhood is because the original FMA did so well, ratings wise. If had been any other anime remake, it probably wouldn't have seen the light of day.
And as for their other 2 anime shows they picked up, I'll wait to see what it is first before I give them the credit of doing it "out of the goodness of their hearts". |

It should be pointed out that McDougal is far from being the only new character in the revamped series. I count at least 6 in the poster alone that didn't make it in the first time around (8 if you count the silhouettes). |

Does anyone know if the second scheduled FMA broadcast (Sunday 4:00 am ET) is a repeat of the earlier midnight Brotherhood episode or is it an episode from the original series? My onscreen cable guide doesn't differentiate Brotherhood from the original series.

Yeah, I'd watch this if I didn't know I'd have to listen to a 47-year old man trying to play a 15-year old boy who's not quite through puberty. I'm not saying Romi Paku's perfect, but a female voice works better (an actual kid would work best, but what can you do? child labor laws plus they grow older). Why they don't cast Mignogna in one of the many plush adult roles I do not know. From what I've heard of him elsewhere, he'd do a great Roy Mustang. |

Looking forward to this however I have two concerns about this though.
One, the original FMA dub is easily one of the best dubs I've ever seen and I am just hoping that the FMA Brotherhood dub doesn't suffer in quality since Funimation likely had to rush it to get it out on Adult Swim so fast. The other concern I have is Adult Swim its self. Already as some people have pointed out there has been no advertising what so ever for this. Adult Swim has basically shown an open contempt towards anime recently, doing things like taking Code Geass that gets excellent ratings and moves it to a 5am time slot and replacing it with their cheap poorly made shows that no one seems to like. I can with out a doubt see this happening to FMA Brotherhood. |

Can I venture and say that I did not find anything wrong with Vic Mignogna's performance as Ed in the first anime. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one and I look forward to this one. I am glad they did not change Roy Mustang. That's just me. |

I actually prefer Vic to Paku Romi, and I watched Fullmetal Alchemist first in Japanese. Then again, I usually don't like it when female seiyuu play male characters because I can always tell it's a woman doing the voice, and for some reason (perhaps unreasonably so) it removes me a bit from the anime. There are, of course, a few exceptions to this preference. I don't think Vic would make a great Roy, though. Travis Willingham has a deeper, more authoritative voice that suits Roy. |
