Wow, Yen Press is really doing great with Black Butler hitting number 1 with it's first volume.

According to a tweet from Yen Press, Black Butler is their first book to reach the number 1 spot. Congratulations to YP for reaching this milestone.

Vampire Knight will probably be number 1 next week;but still this is great news for Yen Press.I wonder if this is a good omen for how Soul Eater 2 will do when it is released later this month.

The question should be: "how could it not debut at #1?" Black Butler was and still is a very popular manga even before its license.

On that note, congrats YP, I picked up a copy as well Very Happy

Because it's really good?
The art snagged me when I saw the Japanese volumes during a visit to Kinokuniya.
There are yaoi undertones, but they remain safely undertones for those who don't like yaoi. (Guys shying away because of the doujins-Sebastian has made comments about not being into that). There's cute humor, but a good plot & good characters.
