Yaoi Press Publisher Yamila Abraham expressed more caution due to the rejection of "Zesty, our tamest graphic novel, without citing a reason," by Apple's iTunes Store.

That's worrisome. Big Brother is watching you.

Well, as long as the iPad supports basic image formats, I think "future owners"* will be reading manga on it long before any of the publishers make any meaningful progress into releasing content for it.

Hmm, well Vertical's Tezuka titles will be on the iPad at launch. I think they are gonna look pretty sweet on that big screen, yup! Smile

Through a version of the Tezuka Magazine App that was launched for the iphone a few months ago, or something direct from vertical?

At this time we can just mention the AstroBoy Mag app we worked on, which will include even more Tezuka translations from us soon. It looks great on the big screen.

I wonder if people will make iPad app versions of software like Manga Studio. It would be cool if the iPad encouraged the creative side of manga & anime sub-culture as well as the consumption side. Unfortunately I don't think a touch-based interface will work as well as a pen-based interface.

Yeah, touch is not as accurate as a pen for input. If that was the case, then the great masterpieces would have been fingerpaintings....
