So its going to be a prequel following C2 during one of her previous contracts, this one in Edo-era Japan?

It will be interesting to see what this actually amounts to, but I'm willing to give Taniguchi the benefit of the doubt for the time being. This could add to the story or just make it even more complicated.

So is this the new project? I figured it would have to do with the manga, either an anime version of them or a new one.

So I'm guessing this is one of the projects. I'm also curious if they're going to go down the route of saying Lelouch looked like one of her past lovers. Either that or some crazy crazy time travel happened.

I'm curious to see if the "visual works" mean a full season, OVA(s), or a movie. I'll be keeping my eye on this.

Well if they emphasize works then we know it has to be multiple. My first reaction was a visual novel but who knows.

People will need to accept no Lelouch :< so I think this is a brave step for them to take as it will disappoint everyone at first, (or maybe just me) and they will have negative fans to deal with (yes I am tad bit anoyed that there is no Lelouch so I am thinking auto rejection of the idea but should pass with time)
but saying/thinking Geass without Lelouch sounds wrong :/ Don't you think? |

Hmmmm... yes and no personally. Yes because Code Geass was centered on Lelouch's agenda to overthrow Britannia. His personality and character is really what made the show so memorable. But then again, no because while Lelouch was the centerpiece, Geass consisted of a lot of variety of characters that were fleshed out over the course of R1 and R2. And having so many characters, especially C.C. with such an ambiguous past even still, has a lot left to be told. Although I would love to see Lelouch back in action, he's already done A LOT in the geass realm. I would only want to see him back if they could really create a reason for him to be back, without stretching it too far. That said, I'm excited for this. To know that it's canon is a sigh of relief rather than some one shot side story. I am slightly disappointed though its a manga since I originally watched Geass as an anime, it feels more natural that way. But then again, so many manga get anime adaptions these days, it's not discouraging at all. |

Interesting...but where's the source link I'm so used to? I'd really like to see what information there is in Japanese as well. Or was it some kind of illicit early scan of the magazine? (It's not hitting newsstands in Japan until the 10th.)

Like Yu-Gi-Oh! with out Yugi ? lol --------------------- MAN it sounds so wrong and bad the new concept. and The Mangas have been so srsly bad. If it's only a manga I definately do not plan to read. BUT. if there's anime/ova/movie I'll give it a chance how ever..ugh.. it just sounds wrong lol. Precuels / Secuels that are aside of the story are always bad |

Well, I'm somewhat relieved by this. Looks like they'll be leaving the original story intact. But there's still the pitfall that it could just not be nearly as good as the original, and so runs the risk of devaluing the whole franchise. Nevertheless, I'm a little more hopeful now.

But also what made Lelouch cool was him having the power of kings.
the new concept of a mechanical left arm and shuriken throwing stars does sound a bit :/. But what Amethyst Alchemist pointed out about leaving the original story intact is a good thing and I agree fully. Just will have to get use to the idea of it ain't geass as we know and love. hehe Geass could possibly be the best anime ever in my opinion :> (Was just so perfect) |

Not quite. Though I'd rather see a sequel with Lelouch in, I wouldn't mind having a prequel. I believe there's a lot to explore, and what they chose is one of the options. Knowing Code Geass, I can expect great things even if there's no Lelouch. |
