At least it has a little bit of staying power, usually debuts with low box office rankings drop over 60% but Astro Boy is only dropping a tiny bit each time. Hopefully the film can at least break even with the rest of its run and DVDs, which they should release very soon if they want some good size profits.

Astro Boy isn't doing so bad, it seems like.

Because of car trouble I was running late to make a matinee showing Tuesday, but figured with all the descriptions here of empty theaters there's be no trouble even though we only had 5 minutes to spare.
I was hard pressed to find 3 seats together. The place was at least 80% filled so what seats were open were scattered or the dreaded front 2 rows under the screen. By the time it started I'd say it was closer to 90% full.

I'm planning to go during an off time so that I can get in cheap and get a good seat.

I find it interesting that this movie is still holding on. It earns a few more millions and keeps slipping as other more upscale titles pull attention away. I guess the revenue is also coming from those curious enough see it. Not mention it might not be as bad as some may thing. It's just OK. It's for kids. Not bad though I must say. So I do give some credit to 'Imagi's studios.

I went to go see it. The thing is--I used a free ticket I got as an apology for the projector breaking down when I went to go see Coraline. Is that considered adding to the box office revenue or not?

Considering the outrageous prices of movie tickets, I rarely even go to the theaters. But as a sign of respect, i got a large Icee from them. Movie theaters get most of their profits from the food, after all.

I think Astro Boy WILL make up the cost of the movie and that Imagi Studios will be able to survive at least long enough to make its next production. The numbers are kind of low right now, but it seems to be chugging along with little loss of momentum. In addition, I think the sales of merchandise and DVD/Blu-Ray sales will push it up to a profit. Not a big one, but a profit nonetheless. Has this movie come out in Australia yet? I hear the Astro Boy name is huge in Australia.
