Wow! Miki's replies were very well thought out.
And for once he's not covering his face in a photo! Haha. |

A very interesting interview. Like everyone, I do have a few of my favourites among Miki's voice roles.
I liked the part about that unnamed rat master (cough cough) with "today" written on his wall scroll. |

This guy is a badass. Probably my favorite seiyuu ever. I'd love to meet him someday.

It was interesting to hear how he got into the industry, and about his older sister having been into anime.
I enjoyed his performance(s) as Lockon Stratos in Gundam 00, and have taking a liking to his Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, as well. |

The interpretor (Japanese --> Chinese) was awful, and translating the transcript once more into English took me listening the recording four times from start to finish, yet the result was still full of fragments. I have to thank Zac for editing my transcript into a readable article.
There are more photographs here, including another guest of honor dropped by just to say hello, plus an ANN-exclusive picture that you won't find at anywhere else. |

Well then how about his performance as Allen Schezar in Escaflowne? We also got some really cool extras on those discs with the Japanese seiyuu, mainly with Tomokazu Seki, but there's a fair bit with Shinichiro Miki as well that's pretty funny and goofy. He seems to be an interesting guy. |

Since we're highlighting some of his roles, I'd like to point out his performance as Shannon in Scrapped Princess. That was awesome. |

There's a dub FMA connection: Vic Mignogna dubbed Kurz Weber and is really great friends with Travis "Roy Mustang" Willingham.

I'd say more like "carefully worded" although it could just be a matter of interpretation since it sounds like dormcat had a hell of a time translating. I thought it was boring. Shinichiro Miki has been one of my favorite seiyuu for several years now. This article certainly doesn't change that, but am I the only one who would really like to know the true answers about his favorite roles and how he deals with them? Alas, it's partly a cultural thing as the Japanese often do not give straight answers. I completely understand this and deal with it on a daily basis but it's still rather disappointing. |

However, if you've been following him & those he works with long enough, you know he seems pretty reserved. On Area 88 the director or whoever it was was saying how cool Miki seemed off by himself leaning against the wall & Seki & Koyasu both said that was just how he is, not that he's trying to seem cool.
Although the drinking thing sounded interesting as several of his earlier interviews included drinking stories, so maybe he's cut back some. |

OOOH~! Thank you very much!! I didn't know ANN had an interview with Morikawa as well. TEIOU~! I laugh at how at how the interviewer tried not to say "BL dramas" and said "female-oriented drama CDs" instead, haha. It's very sad that Morikawa's beloved lab Axl passed away a few days ago. He was only 8. |

So the TMNT comments make me point to Engrish in anime. I'm not certain why anyone should be bothered by mispronunciations/misspellings and other things of the sort in a foreign product especially in media that uses those things intentionally as gimmicks.
