Hey all. We've got some good animes coming out in the next few months,
Now that Flame of Recca has finally been announced for NA, I was just wondering how it was. I've heard really good things about it. But can someone elaborate a bit more on the series? Is there a lot of action? I saw a couple of clips on AMV's and it looked like some pretty good fighting. Also is the story good?
Next we've got Gungrave. I looked it up...a lot of people don't like it, but then in the ratings, a bunch of people rate it masterpiece and such. How's the show? I know this has gotta have a lot of action in it. I heard the story is so so however.
Lastly we've got Samurai Champloo. Now while I'm usually against downloading anime the show ain't licensed over here. I ALWAYS support anime, even if I'm unsure of it. I've tried d/ling a couple episodes (i think they're up to 3) but every once I d/l is in every sub language but english. Animation wise it looks REALLY good, and it seems quite humorous. Guess I'll keep lookin for an english sub. Can anyone elaborate more on this one? Thanks for ya time!

Yea and I'm sure it will be BIG here in US once it's released. It might even trigger climax of anime popularity here in US. Lets wait and see!

Really, I hope Samurai Champloo seriously starts picking up soon. After an absolutely fantastic opening episode, two and three have been pretty...well...not bad, but more suited to be mid-series filler than expositional episodes meant to establish a regular viewing audience.

Gungrave is good. most people would just watch one episode and say it suck. Just watch the whole damn thing....
Oh yea the story is not so-so, unless you're into fairy magical girl show. I really like the story since not many story deal with mafia. I really like the character since they're done by Nightow.

I saw only the 2nd episode because I couldn't get my hands on a first. It looked really good. From the animation, to comical innnuendos... I laughed, I cried, I spilled my soda on my lap...ohhh good times........

Hell yea! I love ep 3. It reminds me of Zatoichi a lot and it's just overall one hell of anime. The intro is fantastic but closing sux . Yo guys, is it gona be 13 or 26 eps?

Most of the people I know tend to say the opposite. Self included.

I like Samurai Champloo a lot. Of course, I've still only seen the first epsiode, but a friend of mine has the 2nd, so I'll try to see it some time.
I'm sure it'll get better though. If I'm not mistaken, I think it also took Bebop about 4 or 5 episodes to get good, but then again the first 3 were just introducing Ein and Faye.
I doubt Champloo will have any more main characters added though.

I like Samurai Champloo quite a bit myself. Although the second ep was kind of meh, I thought the third ep was quite a bit more entertaining. I am kind of curious as to if this series will be on Adult Swim and all that jazz.
I have not seen Flame of Recca so I will not comment.
I watched the first five eps of Gungrave and thought it was ok. I doubt that I will buy it, but I do think that there are people out there who will like this title.

Having finally seen Seven Samurai in its entirety, I'm suddenly interested in seeing how this animated retelling holds up. If it's even a fraction as good as the movie, then it'll be something to watch for definite sure.

Trigun was filler all the way up until epsode 12, so that doesn't mean much

The anime for Flames of Recca belongs in one place, the trash bin. The anime is very good up until the final few episodes where they deviate from the manga and write a quick closing that is nothing like the manga which continues on for 16 more volumes. If anything I would say get the manga however at 33 volumes long it will take Viz years to release the whole thing. I downloaded it a long time ago before it was licensed. I do plan on picking up the official versions but only if Viz starts boxing it or something. The manga is great but you should spend all the money you would on the Flames of Recca anime on the Flames of Recca manga because you'll get a lot more out of the manga.
