I don't know if Felipe has an alternate cover for Volume 1 of Peepo Choo yet, but he knew he has to (because you can't have someone flip you off on a cover, yet you can do that when it's inside of the manga's pages). Anyway, that's gonna be awesome! Needles sounds pretty good too.

I'm so excited that they're releasing Chi's Sweet Home! Anime hyper I've been hoping to see it in English for quite a while. The other titles sound interesting, as well.

Wait. The Vertical rep was telling me it was a challenge for anyone but Del Rey to currently license KC manga. If it's not, then I was hoping they'd be more bold. Hell, they were telling me they were aiming for seinen titles last time. Guess that didn't work out?

You can IN AMERICA.

Great news. It would have been a real shame if it didn't get printed in it's original language.

Eh, shouldn't it be 7 billions instead of 2?

Ooo, Twin Spica ended? I saw the series ages ago (I was able to correctly guess a character when dormcat posted one in the manga character guessing game actually), but really liked it, I try not to be collecting too many series at once anymore (Otakon actually quelled that number greatly, it's more or less now 1 actively) , but at 16 volumes, Twin Spica will join the party. Always wanted to know wtf was up with green-haired girl, damn cliffhanger ending.

edit-also, glad Vertical is picking it up, I really like them (mostly for having picked up so many Tezuka titles, but this feels more like going into the realm of... more manga than they were before for some reason, probably 'cus a lot of their previous titles pandered to a rather small audience?)

That's one of the differences between Hal Clement's Needle novel and Nobuaki Tadano's Needle manga. Clement's novel is called 2 Oku no Hari (2 Billion Needles) in Japanese, while Tanado's manga is called 7 Oku no Hari (7 Billion Needles) in Japanese. Clement wrote his novel in 1950, when there were only about 2.5 billion people on the planet.

(The biggest difference between the two is that the novel's human host is an American schoolboy, while the manga's human host is a Japanese schoolgirl.)

So I guess Amazon didn't just pull those Chi listings out of their asses. Glad hear it. Though it was a bit strange that Vertical didn't just use the normal "No comment at this time" response, instead saying the amazon listings were false and they didn't have the manga.

In closing... YAY Chi!

Peepo Choo!! I'm so excited.
I wonder hw the manga is made. I mean, the artist is an English-speaker, so is the dialougue written in English by him ,and then translated into Japanese by someone else? If so, an English version should be a no-brainer.

(Does the happy-dance) Razz Twin Spica... *drools* I had given up hope on this title being licensed in North America, the last publisher I expected to pick it up was Vertical, but I do not care whom it is releasing it sign me up for the complete series!!!
Anyways, *ahem* it is nice to se Chi's Sweet Home being licensed over here! May try Peepo Cheepo once a few volumes have been released. Does this mean Vertical will be shying away from the older series? Honestly, I had hoped they would pick up Rose of Versailles, however, I doubt this would happen anytime soon.
