Just wondering why this hasn't been mentioned on the ANN main page yet. =/

I thought it would be in there for the most inconsistently written main character.

This is the 12th animated feature since the first Pokémon movie, Mewtwo's Counterattack, hit Japanese theaters in July 1998.

Wow, that's the first time I've ever heard it called that. Almost seems like it was planned that. Was Mewtwo Three Times faster and painted red as well?

Well, the Japanese title for the first Pokémon movie is is Myūtsū no Gyakushū.

And the Japanese title of that certain Gundam movie is Gyakushū no Shā.

"Mewtwo Strikes Back" is essentially the same as saying it's Mewtwo's "Counterattack", in that he was attacked or threatened first, and he's countering, or returning that threat.

Though, to be honest, I think Mewtwo probably overreacted, anyway. Er, and so did Char.

This is actually it's second Guiness World Record. The first for the infamous Electric Soldier Porygon incident.

...why? Why can't this franchise just pass on?!

You look at those promo vids of the Gold/Silver remakes and tell me it needs to die.

I'll be all over those.

I thought I was done with Pokemon after Diamond, but with these being released, I was wrong. I just wish they'd make a fighting-style game (like SSB Melee and Brawl) and be done with all these RPGs that are exact replicas of each other. But, I still buy them, so what can I say?

It still produces solid, well-received games for multiple consoles, has an iconic mascot to rival Nintendo's very best, and for a children's show the anime is exceptionally well written and endearing.

"Why can't the franchise end?" More like who would want it to? It's still certified fresh for a good, long while, I say.

Because in the end, it's all about the bling-bling. And as far as Nintendo is concerned, Pickachu might as well be a diamond-studded shock mouse with gold trim.

I'm really tired of pikachu. He never evolves and always gets caught like a damsel in distress. I love the pokemon games but the anime has to stop. The opening music theme for the latest pokemon show is horrible and everyone in the anime is too happy sometimes. Confused

This. The Pokemon anime gives the Pokemon games and anime in general a bad name. But sadly, the Pokemon series will probably run for years to come...

That's because he needs the thunderstone and refused it waaaay back in the first season (because he didn't want to become different as Raichu) >_> Soooo that would be the reason...

I think Ash has had only, like, 10 Pokemon evolve. That's what annoyed me when I was younger. I'd be playing the games and my Pokemon evolved all the time yet Ash, the hero, can't get 1 to do it. I'm also tired of him losing. I don't think I've seen a main hero lose as many times as Ash. Congrats, you won the Orange League, no one cares because you lost all the ones that matter. If he doesn't win the Sinnoh League, I don't know what I'll do, but it won't be pretty. If Misty were there, that anime would still be watchable and enjoyable, just saying.

I do hope, though, that these new Heart Gold and Soul Silver games allow you to play through ALL the regions. That would be my second dream Pokemon game (with the first being a Melee style fighting game).

Wasn't Pokemon already on for being one of the most sold games?
