Does anyone know who sings this song?:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO6RvWIRfgk

I love the lyrics:

"I'm in love with a girl,
who does not exist,
but she's perfect in every other way
her legs are so long, and her rack so grand
and she lives in my favorite anime..."

I really like the singer's voice, too. would love to find more stuff he sang.

I'm also quite fond of "Manga Maniac":

Once again, I don't know who sings it...

I'm thinking that, probably, Urusei Yatsura are anime fans.
I'm not sure what tipped me off, but there's... there's definitely something. Confused

Well one can try Weezer's "In the garage"

although that one is more nerd themed it does have some points for being what some anime fans are like.

Lol, I remember years ago Sailor Moon fans made a big deal about Rivers having a big Sailor Moon sticker on one of his guitars.

That is funny I'm sure Rivers probably knows about Sailor Moon but I can't say I've heard of a song that was directly inspired by it. They are more of a nerd rock band.

Speaking of nerd rock bands one can also try Lemon Demon who actually has a direct anime inspired song ( as well as a epic fail trying to sing an anime theme song, Live!)

Also add in for back-up music

But I prefer Lemon Demon's "I've Got Some Falling to Do" and "Kitten is Angry" and "Geeks in Love"

I've noticed that recently quite a few Western bands have begun to embrace anime as a source of inspiration for their music, and so decided to start a thread where we can all talk about some of these bands. One of my favorites is Fightstar, an English band that is heavily inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion. How about you all?

How do you know that about Fightstar? I'm actually listening to one of their songs at the moment (Floods), haha. I've never associated them with NGE at all. =\

Sorry for the cheap plug, but I'm part of an independent band called "Face Time Police," and we recently released an EP with a song called "Of Man and Monster" that was inspired by and based on an early scene in Hellsing (both the original and the Ultimate versions were studied before we began writing the lyrics), mixed in with a personal situation.

One of our fans recently made an AMV for it, and he really gets the song. He used a lot of scenes that were referenced in the lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXBEMqi3hE4 - the current draft of his AMV.

We have the song up as a free mp3 download on our site, so please feel free to grab it if you dig the song:

Oh, also, the EP artwork (and upcoming site layout) was partly inspired by Gurren Lagann. We don't have an image online of the full spread artwork at the moment, but the cover is on the splash page of our site. You can see some of the spiral/galaxy theme there. The color scheme (dark blue with a white division at the bottom) is similar to some early scenes which showed Lordgenome in his throne room.

Well they're not really a band more than a group and they've made openers for some anime shows. Home Made Kazoku are a rap group and I just love their music and also FLOW made the Code Geass op or something they're Japanese also and just as good.

Here's one that hasn't been mentioned yet, Jeru The Damaja is a big anime fan apparently. Let's see if you can spot the anime reference in this song. I don't think it should be to hard.
