So I've been a big fan of Range Murata's Robot since it first came out. It took me forever to find it after I first read about it, but once I did I was hooked. Problem is, the original publisher, Digital Manga Publishing (DMP) DROPPED the title after publishing the 4th volume. I was floored. Then Udon Entertainment gave me a thin ray of hope by announcing they'd picked up the license for it. After releasing volume 5 (with a price-increase for a less-expansive book layout) they've said absolutely NOTHING about the release of volume 6, which was last said to be released in March of 09. MARCH?! Now I've looked everywhere and haven't seen or heard a single word on the state of the volume, or the state of the title itself, and I've been livid for awhile. So I guess my reason for posting this here is to see if there are any other Robot fans going through the same withdrawal, seething daggers at Udon for not even deigning to explain Robot's status. It makes me wonder if they dropped it like DMP because it's not a niche title like Naruto, so it doesn't sell like hotcakes for the unwashed ignorant otaku-masses. So is there anyone who can link me to word about volume 6, or that has the same addiction as I do:?:

I feel your pain, Udon seems to be notorious for not holding up to their release dates. I have begun sending e-mails to them in hopes of getting someone off their ass, but who knows what good it will do if any. They are the same with Apple, which they finally released Volume 2, and they have volume 3 scheduled for a release of 2 months ago.

ha, the reason I didn't pick up Apple was because of the way they've treated Robot. I won't have any faith in a company that acts as such, and so after that last volume of Robot, I won't buy anything else from Udon. If they at least had the decency to come out and say "Hey, X-title is going to be delayed until xx-xx-xxxx" or " We regret to inform you we will be ceasing publication of further volumes of X-title". No, we get absolutely NOTHING. And so they'll not be getting anymore of my money.
